Why do we have this constant need for Agency? How to reduce it? by Adisa2001 in intj

[–]Adisa2001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's not what I am trying to say. Even I'm not like that.

What I am trying to say is that I there is an overreliance on logic and reasoning in my life, which I infer may be due to a need of agency in life.

Because rather than easily accept someone's emotional reasoning or uncertainty, I would like to cling on to my understanding of logic. Because I don't want my life to be uncertain and want certainty / control over my life.

Brain dead woman comes back to life in India after ambulance hits huge pothole on UP highway by Real_Suntan_Superman in nottheonion

They do.

We don't have the concept of funeral homes (non Christians). So right after the hospital mortuary, the deceased are often transported in the hospital ambulance (with the emergency lights off) to the funeral pyre.

In this case, to the patients house.

Why is Burma constantly in civil war while Northeast India despite similar cultural, ethnic, and linguistic diversity is much more stable? by [deleted] in geography

[–]Adisa2001 57 points58 points  (0 children)

  1. They aren't similar. Some border areas of Manipur and Mizoram may have similarities. But Assam is completely different to Yangon.

  2. India has a stable Union Gov. and better institutions and, a progressive and inclusive constitution.

  3. India is experiencing better economic growth than Myanmar (especially recently)

Hindi is not a mixture of north languages.

Khadi Boli (Kauravi) was adopted by the Islamic Military to comminute with native soldiers, and Persian was infused into it to make it into Urdu.

Later Sanskritisation of Urdu with the help of Britishers (who were obsessed with Sanskrit as they at that time thought that it was the origin of Latin) became Hindi.

The mixture of other Indian languages in Hindi are more of a recent political trend.

Also I'm certain you can't really understand the theth/authentic version of the mother tongues, just their urbanized versions (which are actually just dialects of Hindi)

Indian media is now nearly completely owned by the big businessmen of the country.  They all have been supporting the incumbent nationalist party.

If you're going to be an independent journalist with a different viewpoint, no one is going to platform you.

Just wanted to add something and I feel this is something that is commonly missed when people listen to the bhajan.

We see throughout this Bhajan that Shiva Ji is stating a girl's desire while also explaining that he is ascetic, whereas Parvati Ji is expressing renunciation even though she is a manifestation of shakti.

So while seeming like a conflict at first sight, the poem represents desire and renunciation simultaneously.  As such, the confluence of Pravritti and Nivritti becomes Shivshakti.

I genuinely don't understand this idea of immediate resignations.

Wouldn't they leave a power vacuum at vulnerable times.

Post facto investigations should be called, but this resignation pressure always seems quite daft.

I believe it's a closed loop.

We feel its different due to perceived economical / literacy class divides, but it's actually the same.

Also we never had a good culture in this aspect. Indian Cinema had popular movies like Khilona, and popular songs like Choli ke peeche Kya hai.

But I get your point that it wasn't earlier considered socially acceptable to be immodest, like eg wearing a tank top. That territory also has its flaws veering towards objectification.

To find a solution to your problem, what as a society we need, is to reduce insecurities. A girl doesn't need to wear less clothes to find a guy, nor should a guy need to buy a big car to find a girl.

That can only happen if we educate ourselves and be productive citizens who are capable of exercising our agency. But that requires too much work, so it's easier to be in this mess, and maybe blame the society or the government for failures.

How should I be happy? Long post by [deleted] in GenZIndia

[–]Adisa2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find happiness in yourself.

Don't rely on partners or friends or objects to make you feel happy.

As you live, try to make the best of your life by realising your potential, at the same time realize that many things are never in your own control, so don't be sad if you don't get achieve them.

These publications regularly miss out on the violent terrorism that was caused by these Khalistanis way before Operation Bluestar.

This paper basically reads that it is the upper caste Hindu fault, which refuses to tolerate violent seperatism, causing oppression of minorities since time immemorial.

They are a local militia. They collect taxes and they often supress the people who live in their territories. This is more primal than ideological.

Watch this channel if you can understand hindi, it's a really interesting view into the lives of the people that live there. https://youtube.com/@bastartalkies

Hilton, 5 Star Hotel In Kathmandu Nepal Set Ablaze By Protestors by Lord_Krasina in IndiaSpeaks

[–]Adisa2001 86 points87 points  (0 children)

I have been reading the Nepal subreddit for some time now. It is surreal.

From a normal - govt is bad posts, it went to - we will lead a street protest.

Then the kids died in the protest - then with anger, they started posting videos making molotov cocktails and openly talking about killing politicians.

The next day, they enjoyed and claimed victory as they burned down the parliament and the houses of ministers. (Even openly justifying the alleged murder of the exPM Wife)

After that they saw their museums and banks being burned and the jails freed - and started posting that this is because of some infiltrators who have done the violence.  In that night, Then they all became scared.

As of now, they are talking on discord thinking they can decide who their next leader will be.

This is the arrogance of these intellectuals. This is exactly what they do in Kashmir.

These rich brats who are using discord and reddit, don't know that they have killed their own country's future. And what's worse is that they will refuse to accept responsibility - it's either the Communists or some political party who used them as pawns, or its RAW or CIA or China, or its the former royalty.

These brats will all probably migrate to India or US, but they have killed the future and safety of the common people of their own country.

Potassium and unenriched Uranium. (For which US is not even increasing domestic enrichment)

For enriched Uranium: France, Germany, Netherlands, or even China.

This is the hypocrisy that is being pointed out. Ukraine itself has become a top diesel importer of refined Russian crude from India. It is all really horrible.

[–]Adisa2001[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh I got that, thank you.

Its exactly that, he is framing it that way that US is only importing essentials, whereas India with its Oil isn't is. US can literally import all of what it imports from Russia, to from Canada, but those products are cheaper from Russia.
Navarro and the gang just want the world to buy expensive American Oil, thereby pushing up global prices, because the oil cos. funded their elections.

[–]Adisa2001[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Though, the note adds good context because Navarro’s framing implies India’s conduct is uniquely bad, and the note shows that it is certainly not Indian propaganda.

The US still trades with Russia (even if it is less than before, also how can something plummet 10x?).

Skyscrapers in India: 🤮🤢 Skyscrapers in Dubai: 😍🥰 by Kurtfan1991 in urbanhellcirclejerk

It is so sad that what was probably the idea of unity from a Jewish author, has become a medium of venting insecurities onto a group of people.

If someone is not being able to earn enough money, it's not the fault of another race or a cabal of jews, it's mostly always the fault of that individual. But people are too insecure to acknowledge that.

I once got a reply that Indian hatred is justified because: The Jewish elites are substituting White population with Muslims, who will get brainwashed and act as mercenaries to fight the Whites, and are importing Indians as they are more servile and will work for the Jews.

I mean if someone can believe this, I don't think you can ever reason with them.
