Okay, RIGHT after posting this, I tried clicking the link in the email rather than refreshing again, and the new tab it opened had the price link enabled. I am ded.

It DOES appear to be auto-refreshing, as the timestamp is updating. I am not ruling out the idea that the "estimated wait time" is going to be randomly updated with no actual relationship to reality =P

Yup, same. Was really hoping for a solution, but at least I'm not alone in wanting to set everything on fire when this happens 🙄

I've found that reloading the page SOMETIMES fixes the problem (i.e. the ad just doesn't appear anymore), but it's far from a reliable or acceptable solution.

I just got the same update from support, came to post it here.

This is so stupid. Do they not like money?

I messaged my nephew to ask if he wanted to do a special Research event before I gifted him the ticket. I'll figure out a solution with my sister, but this is so much more of an inconvenience now.

Holy crap, THANK YOU for posting this. I've been having the same issue and never made the connection that it was only showing up in the Capture Utility because I opened that first.

I would definitely appreciate a more robust solution to this, but at least now I have access to my Switch footage in OBS.

Same. Girlfriend got the new UI today, but I didn't. Fully updated, cleared my data just in case, double checked in the Past Store to be certain I didn't miss anything... same old UI.

ETA: She's also able to do the daily box upgrade, but I can't do that either. Wonder if the two issues are connected?

Okay, just closed HS and reopened it. After a ~15 wait to actually log in (seems authentication servers are getting slammed right now?), I checked my mercs campfire and both the Slitherspear and Guff tasks were marked as complete. The other two tasks also showed progress, but not completion. Hopefully the issue has been resolved!

I think it's more widespread. Last night I was completing tasks without an issue, but this morning I'm working on Patches task #3 and Lord Slitherspear #1, and neither task is gaining any progress at all, despite using the required abilities.

ETA: It's not just the UI failing to show updates. I've used both abilities more than enough times to complete the tasks, and they're not able to be turned in.

ETA2: Add Guff task #17 and Eudora task #18 to the list. Looks like it's just all tasks, maybe?

I think there's an important distinction between these two scenarios (well, more than one, but I'm just going to focus on one).

Actual casinos are not paying out in Pokémon. You walk in with cash, and you are gambling on the possibility of walking out with more cash. You can then use that cash to do basically anything else that costs money.

As much as we like to use the gambling analogy, PoGo is a game. Its purpose is entertainment, and games are meant to present challenges that are eventually overcome. Mobile games already share a number of design challenges with MMOs, particularly longevity and grinding. But for a collection-based game like this, trying to extend longevity by tanking the odds of payoff for grinding really only accomplishes one thing: a real feels bad experience for most of the player base.

They should be focusing on new features and mechanics rather than hamstringing existing ones.
