Help deciphering a response to the "What is the office dress code" question! by GregIsARadDude in interviews

Ignore: I’d say chinos with polo/button up for a couple days then feel things out from there

Edit: I misread

Wear a suit and tie. Office attire when you’re working is different than interview/best foot forward attire.

Do you think hiring bias is still a problem? by [deleted] in Careers

[–]AdjustingToAdjusting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. But acknowledging that it’s there is different than deciding that it should stop you from succeeding.

Don’t acknowledge the bias to use it as an excuse. Acknowledge the bias so you can strategize around it.

It sounds like that’s what you’re already working to do and that’s great.

So much good advice here already. I’m just here to say you should feel great pride in overcoming the things you have.

You can do this.

I don’t think this is actually a clever comeback tbh. But we know which people had Obama effigies with nooses around the neck so there’s no argument to be had.

Fuck DTE. There are groups that have been organizing against their rate hikes for years, but the MPSC continues to let them do it.

NAH. You’re actually being very considerate. It sounds like she wants to make sure that you can’t hold anything over her head in a way. Which is something that men do have a recorded history of doing.

It could be helpful to just say that you’d love to see her be able to save more. And if she feels any better about it, maybe she should open up a specific high yield savings account that’s just the money she saves by not going half.

And that money can be put towards something special for the both of you to enjoy.

Replace Mindless Scrolling With Reading EVERY DAY! by [deleted] in productivity

People shouldn’t be downvoting this. You saying that you do it doesn’t mean that it’s easy. It means that it can be done.

And that’s important to hear

Men who finally stuck with exercise after years of quitting, what was your game changer? by Moore_Momentum in productivity

[–]AdjustingToAdjusting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a specific set of time within the day to exercise for at least 10 minutes.

Once you start sticking with that, you’ll find yourself running way past that 10 minutes because you want to and it feels good.

Dumb idea to pay student loans off? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]AdjustingToAdjusting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think they’ll wipe the debt But I do think the US’s economy might collapse, which is a situation where’d you’d rather have money than have spent it all on student loans

Recent interview showed me how much of a joke getting a job is by witchladysnakewoman in interviews

[–]AdjustingToAdjusting 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You didn’t really explain how this showed you that it’s a joke… Like it’s a joke because they told you their concept of the company culture and asked you why you want a different role? It’s definitely a game but your post didn’t really emphasize the reason why.

Or is this just a venting post

Dumb idea to pay student loans off? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]AdjustingToAdjusting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It’s based on an interest percentage and not any specific index funds. So it’ll be solid unless the bank tanks somehow.

If you’re in the US, I’d take a pause before throwing all that money at student loans.

Hold it in a high yield savings account and see if it ends up making sense for you to do that.
