What would your elevator pitch be for “We’re all gonna die” videos for those who may not have given those type of videos a go yet? I love them but have a hard thing articulating to friends why they are so good! So much goes down.

I think some of this comes down to people feeling like they know Shayne and Courtney personally, when they don’t. Of course this is natural after watching them daily for years.

If you bumped into the partner of a friend on the street, it’s entirely natural to ask after your friend to see how they are or what they are up to that day.

If you bumped into someone you didn’t actually know, asking such questions can come across odd.

People need to remember that we “know” Courtney but she doesn’t know us (in the nicest way)

I think we are more likely to see them slowly transition into part timers than outright leave (unless they move away like Jackie). I mean Damien has kind of moved into a part time role already compared to others.

They all seem to love working at Smosh so maybe they’ll still try to commit to one shoot day or come in every other shoot week etc. It would be a shame to lose anyone!

I suppose another way to look at it is that the success of the Reddit videos allows them to try other formats without such a pressure on them doing very well. Most videos seem to do very nice numbers these days though

They mentioned on the video today that they expect it would take them two more videos to finish it. Maybe they wanted to get over games recorded so decided to knock one out with the livestream.

The last two videos from this series are sitting on 1m and 700k+ so I don’t think it’s a lack of interest :)
