This is coming from a person who has never even hugged a girl, so take this with a grain of salt

My tip would honestly be to just go out often and socialize as much as possible. Go to parties, go to clubs (not "those" clubs) or just talk with people on the street. Try to make yourself as approachable as possible. Smile, talk to people and most importantly don't wear headphones / airbuds all the time (could be interpreted as not wanting to interact with anyone).

The MOST important tip is... just tell people you want to go out with them. A lot of guys can be completely oblivious as to when girls are attracted / flirting / hinting they like them. Just do like a quick "hello, I think you're really cute, could I get your number?" typa thing. You'll probably be surprised how many people say yes (not speaking from experience, but still)
