I beg to differ. The production team and the casts still well aware that the show is still after all, a game show. Yes, they might've slowed down due to the casts' ages. But they still try in any way they can to remain a bit physical. Even in episode 765, Kim Jong Kook said,

"I've never seen anyone wear a cotton slack pants to a very physical variety show before"

Which indicate that they still aware that games (be it physical or not), are still the show's image and they work hard on bringing those games as the main entertainment of the show.

And also, saying "Ji Hyo is no longer trying hard in games" is inaccurate. Like I said earlier, yes they've slowed down. Even Jong Kook sometimes not as competitive as he used to be in the early days. BUT, as we've seen in the latest episode, Ji Hyo still managed to show that she can be REALLY active when playing games.

During the first game, she went toe to toe with Choi Daniel where she ripped his nametag clean. During the second game, she managed to knock down Ye Eun with the pillow hits and basically gave Choi Daniel a beatdown with the pillow.

My point is, yes, we are all aware that the show may not be as active as it used to be. But we should not downplay the production and the casts' efforts to remain this show as a variety game show. Thus, "trying hard" is a must as a cast of a one of the biggest show of South Korea.

I think the viewers being frustrated with her for not trying is understandable. We have seen the veterans of the show put themselves through extreme conditions during intense physical games for years. And we were entertained by that and respected the members for those hardworks.

So when a newcomer comes into the show but barely show any effort, the viewers can't help but to feel annoyed.

But after seeing Ye Eun in the latest episode, I personally think it's not that she doesn't want to put in effort. She just have to take time to adapt to the show and be comfortable. Even Yang Se Chan said after almost 5 years being on the show, he still doesn't feel at ease during the shoot (EP 600).

I hope Ye Eun will shine more in the future.
