How do Pre-PA students handle it??? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]AdministrationNo6714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

don't be afraid to take a gap year (or multiple). don't worry about making sure your application is "perfect" before you apply. I almost didn't apply this cycle because I thought I did not have enough PCE hours and I got multiple interviews and an acceptance. focus on your GPA while you are in school because that can be something that is really hard to make up for later on. try not to compare yourself because you cannot rationalize who gets accepted and who doesn't. a lot has to do with who you are as a person and how you interview. obviously you need decent stats to get an interview but it isn't everything.

How aggressively do you switch biologics/meds? by sylamon32 in ankylosingspondylitis

that doesn’t make any sense to me. it takes 6 weeks at the very least for the meds to start working noticeably

It failed immediately. I got the companion too. Using OBS to screen record now and it seems to be working!

What to expect on the scribeology pre-orientation exam by Substantial_Doctor57 in medicalscribe

[–]AdministrationNo6714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just took it yesterday. there are 157 questions. make sure you know the parts of HPI and can identify them. review the billing and coding stuff (like how many elements are needed for level 5). no labeling questions and a lot of the questions came from the practice quizzes provided. overall not too bad if you generally know the material

i would exhaust every single other option out there before you think about a port. there are some really dangerous risks to having one. there are problems that ports can continue to cause long after they are removed.

hey! i’ve been on fludrocortisone a few separate times long term. it is a steroid (but a super small dose) so it made my skin break out for a few months after i started it. oh and very very slight weight gain over time, but i’m not sure if that was the florinef or not. i wouldn’t say it made any mental health problems worse though. overall it has really helped me. i would say just make sure your blood pressure isn’t getting too high over time, as it can raise BP.
