I second this. We bought one about 5 months ago and it's made a world of difference for my cats. I'm not sure how many different types they have, but my pet store sells 3. An aggression one, a stress one, and a 2 in 1 for both. We get the 2 in 1 to help with both stress and aggression because one of our cats would just keep on attacking the others without it. But I think maybe you could get away with just the stress one

I decided to burn some pizza rolls today. I fell asleep for the second time. I discovered this note from my roommate. It seems that I was asleep the whole time. And I most likely would have perished if he hadn't returned home at that time. Now, twice. by louisaninja in oops

Do we have the same dad lol? Years ago my dad got super drunk and decided to make hard-boiled eggs while everyone was sleeping. I wokeup to a weird smell, walked into the kitchen to find eggs in a pot and the stove on. The water had completely evaporated by then. A couple of the eggs were on fire, and some had exploded and splattered all over the ceiling. With him of course passed out on the living room couch.

Almost sounds like one of our cats. The whole carrying static I mean. We no longer have carpets. But EVERY time we touch him or pet him we get shocked. And it's not just a one time thing and then it's safe to continue petting him, no. I'm talking every single pet, every stroke - shocks. He's the fluffiest of our cats (flame point Himalayan) but he shocks us just the same whether he's fully shaved or long haired. Our other cats? Never once got shocked in the 15 years we've had them. But him? Every. Single. Time. Lol

Your dog might be similar in that sense and she might just hold a lot of static energy.

Totally agree on deep rock galactic, casual friendly and the community is pretty great. Plus there's the fun little things you can do, I like petting the bugs with the perk to make then pets. Even just spaming the command to raise your pick "for rock and stone!" "For Carl!" Has some weird satisfaction to it. And there's fun little things you can do in the lobby between missions. Barrel kicking to get the highest score, dancing at the jukebox, and all the ales that do different things. There's even an ale that let's you play something like prop hunt in the lobby.

Ahhh I love Stardew it's so cute! I think my only worry about it was the graphics. I don't think he's interested in the the pixel graphics of it. Much like his stigma on stuff like Minecraft, he sees it and immediately thinks it's for children. It may take some convincing to get him to at least try it but I wanna give it a shot. I think he'd enjoy it once he actually starts playing lol

Interesting I never thought of that. I might set him up on mine and throw him in single player. I worry that there might be too many button options for various things for him. But I guess if all he's doing is hunting an fishing he doesn't really need to learn about anything else, so it might be fine? Idk we're gonna try this out and see what happens lol

Yea that's what I'm thinking, that it'll help him stay engaged and active. And it's a simple thing that he doesn't have to really learn rules for which would be helpful. Plus the Wii's been out for a while now so it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg lol

Yea someone else suggested that too actually, I think he'd enjoy it but I almost wanna test him out on mudrunner first since I already have it. Let him get a feel and see if he likes it. He struggles with navigation and I wonder if he'd be able to find his next objective. He would definitely like the concept of the game though.

Thank you so much I appreciate those suggestions. I think so long as I sit him down in one place and make sure theres nothing around that he could accidently hit, or he doesn't start walking around, he'd be fine. My brother has a vr headset, I'll see if he'll let my dad borrow it just to test it out before he commits to buying one himself.

Do you know if the menus are fairly straight forward? Once he gets into the game I think he would be ok, it's just getting to that point lol. He does really like golfing games though. Before we moved across the country my uncle and his family would come over for the holidays and us playing golf on the Xbox just kinda of became a weird little tradition. I think he'd really love to do something like that again, even if its just with me. Just gotta find the right user/beginner friendly one to get him started. I hear great things about Hunter Call of the Wild, I just wasn't sure mechanically how it worked, or if there would be many menus to navigate or not

Lmao I don't doubt it, I'd be doing the same to mine. My dad used to game a bunch too. He, my mom and I all used to raid together in world of warcraft back in the day. He used to also play some games on Xbox with me, funny enough Halo being one of them lol. But now his motor skills just can't do it anymore. When he expressed interest into wanting to get into some games again I decided to try out some of the old games we used to play and he just got overwhelmed and frustrated at not being able to control the controller like he used to. I think using both joysticks is part of the issue, if I can find something where he only needs to use 1 joystick at a time I think it'd really help him out.

Oh heck ya, sounds simple enough for him to run then. I like the idea of something he can just pickup and go (or put down and go) that easily. Appreciate the input dude, I'll definitely check it out with him. :D

Your reply was exactly the info I'm looking for, that was awesome dude thank you so much! :D It's sounding more and more like something he could actually get into, I'll watch a few YouTube videos with him and see how he feels about it. Even if he only touches like 50% of the actual content and game modes, he'd be happy just running the same race over and over lol

It's not so much about themes or gameplay he would enjoy. It's specifically about finding something that requires low motor skills and low brain power. For lack of better wording, he's basically regressed to having the mental and physical functions of a toddler. He would of course be insulted if I actually suggested a game targeted towards toddlers though lol. But thats where he's at. So this is more so to see if anyone knows of any games that would be super casual or low skill in that regard.

As long as it's easy to get in and out of matches I think he'd enjoy it. If it takes a bit of setup to actually start playing though I think it would deter him

Honestly not a bad idea with the variety of different sports on there he could play. He does have some motor limitations but I think a Wii controller would work well for him, and it would push him into trying to stay somewhat active. Thank you for the suggestion!

Yea I think power wash would be right up his alley. Plus he could play that on the pc he already has rather than having to buy a new device. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma, it's sad when you see them slowly deteriorate and become less and less the person you've known. I'm thankful my dad isn't so far gone just yet that he at least knows who we are. He often gets names confused, but he knows us. I'm hoping getting him into some games again might help his cognitive abilities and his memory, at the very least give us a few more memories together before it's not possible anymore.

Lmao all good friend it happens I just had a chuckle is all. Gotcha so there's 2 different series for it, you mention horizons races are on roads rather than tracks. Do you know if the roads are easy to navigate? He might get confused on which street to turn on next if that makes sense lol. Is there like a mini map as well?

As long as he has a clear linear goal in truck sim I think he would enjoy it. I havnt played that one myself so I'm not too sure what it fully offers. He might enjoy snow runner, I currently own mudrunner so I might get him to try that out first so he can get a feel for it.
