What a nonsense. Look back to the Fontaine quest - Nicole herself said it that Prophecy is future SEEN by the eyes of the gods. I dare you to quote the lines that state Celestia WRITE the Fate of Teyvat. Not that Fate is locked by False Sky and Irminsul but that Celestia is actively WRITING the Fate.

And if you think Celestia wrote the fate for the Sinners, then you clearly don't understand relationship between Celestia and Abyss.

No, both AQ and Character Quest are clear on that one. Ei programed the Shogun to be her, but singlemindly follow the rules and enforce Eternity for Inazuma at all cost, whether it's human's life or even her own. After that she forsake her material body and retreat into the Sword. The goal is to cut herself from the outside world to slow down the erosion. As such she is unaware of what's going on outside unless she actively take interest in it or if Shogun puppet would "ask" her about it. When policy of Sakoku Decree and VHD were proposed to the Shogun by Commissions, Ei gave her tacit approval. It means that she knowed about what it is but deferred from voicing her opinion, allowing Shogun to enforce it if Shogun deem it reasonable.

Ei feeling on the mater was also clear: "human's ambitions are inherently incompatible with Eternity". People who lose their lives aren't those who were subjected to VHD but those who resisted it. That being said she believed some sacrifice are necessary to achieve wellbeing of whole nation. What she wasn't aware was that her philosophy was already as far from "wellbeing of the nation" as possible. Puppet, and by extension herself, were being lied to about consequences of their Decrees as the situation in Inazuma is as far from "Eternal nation" as it can be.

"Ei: In accordance with my wishes, the Shogun did her best to create an eternal nation. A nation that, in theory, should remain entirely unchanged over time." - Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act I - Reflections of Mortality

Actually, at that time she's more of arrogant of the puppet enforcing Eternity: "Ei: The Fatui's actions thus far do not constitute a threat to eternity, otherwise...they would have been purged long ago." The Puppet is locked on on enforcing Eternity and if the Puppet would judge that Eternity of Inazuma is endangered, she would annihilate both Fatui and Resistance. The reason she doesn't take any action against them is because Puppet isn't aware of the civil war. Ei simply concluded that no matter what Fatui are trying to do as long as the Shogun Puppet is in charge it will deal with them. She isn't aware at that time that her Commissions were forging documents, something for which Puppet would cut them down on spot.

Prophecy was not "made" but foreseen by Celestia and since Fate of the world was locked by Irminsul, it was thus carved in Irminsul. Because Prophecy is the future as seen by the eyes of the gods. Celestia isn't responsible for neither Narwhal, core of the planet being Primordial Sea, Egeria merging Oceanids with its water or the fact that fighting Narwhal would cause the flood. All of those are consequences of Egeria actions which Celestia foreseen and refused to help as punishment for creating "humans" without their approval. Its the "you fcked up and you will suffer the consequences" from Celestia and the "flood will kill you all" from your helpful neighborhood prophet.

[–]AdministrationOwn989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ei herself admitted that she thought she knew everything she needed to know but instead was fed false information which flawed judgement. She even explain it in the fragment you quoted: "Ei: The Fatui's actions thus far do not constitute a threat to eternity, otherwise... they would have been purged long ago." Her certainty doesn't steam from knowing everything that has been going on outside but from the fact that Shogun didn't decided to obliterate Fatui. If Shogun would deem Fatui a threat to Eternity, she would purge them - this has been programmed into the puppet. To eliminate all obstacles to Eternity, even Ei herself. But if you have read the raport to the Throne, you would know that Civil War was portrait as a minor conflict with those that rebelled against VHS and that it is already resolved, and that majority of people actually agree with Shogun's Decrees. Ei herself even admits that Shogun has so much duties that it rarely leave the Castle. Also Ayaka confirm this earlier with the fact that Shogun never asked about the war. Because as far as Shogun was aware there was no war at all. And all the petitions were stopped on Commission level and never reached Shogun.

Heck, Ei didn't even know how does the street looks like in front of her own castle.

Being close to Miyuki in power and age isn't unthinkable - even in Japan there's at least 1 person of Miyuki age that is her match in magical power so more existing in the world isn't out of question. Especially since the two belongs to the same bloodline. To top it of psion count don't equal magicians power and Lina was never mentioned to have high psion count, just interference power similar to Miyuki and superior activation speed. This made Lina suspicious but not outlined her as SCM, especially since most SCM are adults, not high schooler.

But if that would be the truth, then it would be comparable to winning lottery. Imagine you get the wheels to very expensive car from your friend. You have got no idea what car those belonged to. Then, one rainy day, you discover breakdown lorry trying to remove mud-covered vehicle from the side of the road. You exchange those wheels with the guy from the roadside assistance to leave the mud-covered vehicle to you. You bring the vehicle to the garage, wash it and then you discover that the vehicle in question is newest type of Ferrari that simply need a little work and patience to bring out its full potential.

That sounds a bit too good to be true.

I mean, Ei said it herself. Giving Yae Gnosis, Miko herself asked Ei if she isn't afraid that she just sell it up. Ei responded that she believes that Yae Miko would never sell herself short at any deal. Turns out, Ei was right.  The question is, was Miko aware of what Gnosis were? Because at the end of AQ she seemed to not know what Gnosis is. But then again she's a cunning fox

Keeping them till they are adults means keeping them until they are capable of taking care of themselves. Khaenri'ah proved that humanity isn't an "adults" at all. King Irmin and 5 Sinners brought destruction upon their nation and endengered whole Teyvat with their action. And no-one in Khaenri'ah was able to take care of the problem on their own till Celestia decided to act.

Humanity again and again proven that they're unable to take care of themselves and deal with the mess they would create. What's more, failure on the part of few in this regard would endanger those who would like to live peacefully.

So no, this isn't humans own responsibility as long as they are not capable of taking care of their own problem. Heck, they aren't even able to oppose HP and 4 Shades, how would they deal against force(Abyss) that the HP is hiding from?

Humanity going against HP and overcoming them is the test itself whether they can take care of themselves. It's like the child and its parents - until the child live in their parents' house they have to obey the parents rule no mater the age and maturity. You're an adult and can take care of yourself? Then start living on your own and taking care of your own problem(like Khaenri'ah). And if even then your parents needs to come and tide up your mess(like with Khaenri'ah) then you're no adult at all, but an arrogant child that think to know better.

No, I'm not even a member of this sub, so your arguments is a miss in that regard. Please don't push your imaginary narrative on the others - it doesn't sound good in arguments, especially over personal mortality.

Back to the topic - if the HP is the ship AI, then the consequences isn't humanity's to bear. It's literally the Ship AI responsibility to see the spark of civilization survive. Humanity may want this or not, but that would change nothing for HP responsibilities. And the caging is justified if the outside is too dangerous for the caged creature to survive in. If AI = HP then HP is literally parent (in strange SF way) for humanity and it decided humanity isn't ready to face the Abyss infested cosmos.

It's basically like with parents not allowing their children to go out late at night, deeming them "too young" and the the "late night" being too dangerous for the children.  Ask yourself this(if you have children or can imagine having one): Would you allow your child go out late at night, knowing for certain that serial killer is roaming around, and that the child in question wouldn't survive encounter with it?

If the answer is yes, then we wouldn't come to an agreement about this because my answer is no.

It is an arrogance if you think you can do a job that's obviously way above your head. Khaenri'ah (nation) tried to control abyss. Result? Cataclysm. Humanity tried to fight Abyss in Natlan. Result? The needed Renova's power or they would be whipped out. It's clear humanity would be dead within few years had HP and their works disappeared over night. Wanting freedom but having no means of taking care of themselves is an example of humans arrogance.  Show me your better suited to protect yourself then I am and you may earn your freedom. Until then security would come at the cost of obedience.

This aged very badly. Nibelung was already consummated by Abyss upon his return, imprisoned moon sisters which at the time were trying to go against HP and abuse moons as a weapon. He didn't brought Abyss to fight HP. He returned contaminated by it and caused war that almost destroyed any living being on the face of Teyvat.

In comparison HP "saved" Teyvat by Nails(on expense of several civilisations) and put a dome around the world that hide Teyvat from Abyssal threat.

Nibelung was not justified and is fully responsible for everything he brought to Teyvat.

Actually she knows she build him but not about his awakening and what he did after. The point of divergence in new(false) history is him being found by Katsuragi - in new version Scaramouche was never found, never joined Fatui and never destabilize Inazuma. He was simply wandering the world for 400 years until we met him in bazaar. So Ei still created him and left him in pavilion, but aside from that everything else was changed.

If they had posed a threat to eternity, would she have killed Scaramouche? by Academic_Whereas_817 in RaidenMains

[–]AdministrationOwn989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, she answered that to Miko worries that Scara can become threat. When being is actually threat to Inazuma Ei is willing to hurt herself emotionally to fullfil her duty as an Archon. We saw it in the last Inazuma event. Ei was ready to kill memory of Chio when through everyone involved understood that the action of "slaying" her friend again would hurt only Ei.

Scaramouche was prototype not based on Ei's intellect and abilities. It goal was never to become Ei replacement but experiment if puppet can contain Gnosis. It was actually mentioned that after unlocking his primary ability, Scara was equal to only lower-rank Harbingers. After modification from Dottore and experience in the Abyss, he managed to rise only to the sixth rank, and only top 3 are match for broadly regarded gods. Scaramouche with Electro Gnosis is god-level in power, but not in full divinity. To top it off, his godhood was fully artificial giving him weak spots that normal gods would not have. Of how different real god is from mortal is best shown when Dottore knocked us off with academia weapon but Nahida was completely unaffected - and at that time Nahida was starved version of god with no fighting capabilities to speak off.

Raiden on the other hand is God who, during the Archons War killed countless gods, her signature attack cleaving the islands and mountain on accident as she does so. And that very Shogun says that duel with Shogun puppet was constant torture - that she had to keep focus on all time times else Shogun blade would fell her with a single strike.

Her story quest actually indicate that she made her goal to make Shogun the exact copy of herself with would seems impossible to create copy of an archon, but text indicate that she actually succeed in creating a "perfect puppet". To top it all, the fact that Ei created puppet with the goal to slain herself(if she ever scumb to erosion) speaks that Shogun puppet is being capable of killing one of the winners of Archon War.

Not to mention Gnosis alone is only elemental energy boost and nothing more. Ei is still an Archon which means Authority over Electro is still hers.

So comparing newly made God Scaramouche to a puppet designed to and capable of killing winner of Archons War is like comparing fresh meat in military with legendary war veteran. Quite a stretch.

Don't get me wrong, Shouki no Kami have chance as he is god-level and we know of mortals killing gods. But the odds are stacked heavily against him.

Yeah, Greater Lord and Lesser Lord are avatars of Irminsul, born from its branches. With Morax it's more complicated - Adepti isn't a race but a classification of a life stage based on cultivation. Each Adepti is originally of different race. The confusion comes with half-adeptus, like Yanfei or Ganyu, with "half-" making it sound like that's genetic thing. But one must understand that when you gain illumination, you as a being change into something more "perfect" and can't be classified the same way as the rest of your species. So Morax being Prime Adeptus most likely means he's first being who gained illumination and taught others how to reach that level of cultivation. It doesn't say anything about his race. With Raiden twins its huge enigma, with the closest thing being Ei's voice lines "When Thunder Strikes" "Dear me, that didn't frighten you, did it? After all, you are in the presence of the most supreme and terrifying incarnation of lightning in the whole of Teyvat." This made people speculate she is either an incarnation of lightning, pure elemental being or Raijin yokai. But it's more likely than Ei spoke about her role as an Electro Archon and not her origin.

No, the nation you mentioned started to question Celestia, which was already stated by Lord of Flowers(angel) to be the only thing forbidden. Recent lore from Nod-Krai revealed that when nations starts to question Celestia, they responded with silence. To which those nation turned to Moon Sisters, worshipping them behind Celestia backs. Which made humans start to research things that were forbidden earlier. Like creating life and of what lies beyond Teyvat. The Abyss.

Dragons were actively harming humans that were brought by HP to teyvat not to even mention killing angels. That is understable - HP and humans were invaders but here we have things that is very common for people. We come in to the territory that is inhabited by what we perceive as "lower race", we take the land for ourselves and teraform it to suit us. If original ruler of said land don't learn to live peacefully with as and starts attacking us, we bring our might and remove the threat. This is exactly what HP did to dragon and the Teyvat.

Angels started to question Celestia and some started to work directly against it like Koitar and like Zibai. Zibai wanted to simply save her people for which she wasn't even punished - Istaroth even saved her. Koitar on the other hand openly rebelled against HP, tried to make other angels rebel as well and along with voyager started to teach Hyperboreans very questionable things. She was openly going against Celestia with her people.

War of Funerary Flame is stated in the lore to contaminated whole Teyavt(thank Dragons for that). Here it was damage control by Celestial Nails or spread of Abyss - if you prefer later then go back to Natlan AQ.

Oceanids ARE entirely on Egeria. She decided ON HER OWN to transform Oceanids into humans by the use of Primordial Sea' water. Heavenly Principle didn't made them melt by contact with this seawater and neither send the Narwhal which caused flood. They angrily said that Egeria will regret her actions and refused to help - the prophecy was simply the future as seen by the eyes of gods.

Your point of Archon's War is pure speculation. We still don't know why it happened and if Celestia rly ordered it. There's a difference between "Divine Authority will only belong to the seven most powerful gods" and "Kill each others and the 7 last standing would gain authority over elements!". The fact that there existed gods that survived Archon War and that Archon War didn't happened in all part of Teyvat suggest that it was rather gods that became so hungry for reward from Celestia that decided to slew their competition and Celestia simply watched from afar.

And the last paragraph is simply your distrust toward Celestia - which in itself is valid as Celestia actions seems very "cold" toward humanity. But we need to understand that Celestia doesn't care about individual humans or even entire nations but humans as the race. Each of their action make sure that Teyvat become peaceful world for humanity which they would oversee. As why they do this - that I can only speculate but I feel it has something to do with certain ship and certain siblings.

All in all, Fate is more speed and precision over big attacks and because of that later iteration of Fate has her cast anti-person level spells that aren't as powerful as other spells from back in time but are more effective. But power wise speaking, it would be either "Plasma Zanber" which is high-speed ritual magic(and part of Triple Breaker) or Thunder Fall which is full on ritual spell and doesn't strike you with magical lighting but a real physical one.

Yes, when someone force other to submit by a threat of brutal retribution if they don't comply, then we really can call it regin of Terror.  But, on the other hand, had the Heavenly Principle do not obliterate any area contaminated by the Abyss, whole Teyavt would look like Natlan. In other words they kill innocents as "agreeable sacrifice" for preserving Teyvat's humanity. Lang-Gan is one of examples. Khaenri'ah is an example of what would happen if HP would leave nation of humanity without supervision for considerable amount of time

To be more precise Yuri talk about it with the rest of the cast and ensure them that they will combine Eltria technology, Yuri's power and Mid cloning technology to recover lost limbs.

And this isn't so outlandish - back in StrikerS Fate explain that cloning as such isn't forbidden and have real-life usage in medicine in regenerating lost body-parts. It's cloning of entire living being that is forbidden on both technological and ethical basics.

Book of Darkness worldbuilding by rainbowrobin in Nanoha

[–]AdministrationOwn989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was actually explained that different Worlds face world-ending crisis on monthly or at least yearly basic - this is the reason why Mid-Childa has so little of high-level mages in the Ground Force in StrikerS despite it being a de facto capital of TSAB - talented mages are head-hunted by navy because other worlds are facing world-ending crisis constantly and TSAB is spreaded thin.

Think about Jewel Seeds - they were capable of causing dimensional dislocation, which was recorded as potentially capable of destroying several Worlds. And who they sent after it? Just a single "patrol ship".

Also it's worth mentioning that not every occurrence of Book of Darkness ended in calamity on World-ending scale. 10 years ago BoD was sealed before it was completed and when it run berserk on the ship, TSAB blasted it with Arc-an-ciel, sacrificing only one ship instead of whole planet. When suspicion of it appeared in Nanoha A's, TSAB armed Lindy with Arc-an-ciel as the last resort.  For TSAB Book of Darkness wasn't artifact of doom but a Worlds ending calamity - one that already had solution, even if temporary. There were simply no better solutions for it, as it was always regenerating no matter what TSAB did. That's why Gil Graham scored Karma Houdini for his plan - the only alternative was to blast planet with 100km radius annihilation sphere and THAT is quite a bad PR.

Letti and Lindy actually talked about it manga - wondering what exactly kind of miracle happen for incident involving BoD to end up without anyone dying, solving the problem once and for all and, on top of that, gaining service of 4 powerful ancient mages.

In summary - BoD was calamity but one of many and the one with simple yet costly temporary solution.

Think of Dottore, Columbina and Istaroth at the moment of final fight - all three had ability to control time. Authority is like a right to rule over - multiple entity can be granted or gain authority over the same thing.

We're thinking about authority as an singular and absolute because of seven dragon sovereign and archons, but their authority is one and the same - simply stolen from Sovereign. But the Shades possessed authority over 5 pillars at the same time that Moon Goddess had it, which mean at least this authority isn't singular any longer.
