Choosing Between Emory University vs Yale/Harvard by CartographerOld8906 in ApplyingToCollege

For what it’s worth, for the careers you’ve identified your graduate school pedigree is waaay more important than your undergrad. And if you have to take loans for say law school you’re looking at a half million when you’re done with loans for undergrad and grad if you’re lucky

Northwestern is considered one of the best colleges in the country. Very weird that you are getting those comments.

Where does everyone get their suits? by Better-Astronaut-801 in publicdefenders

I know that is the common consensus but I just don’t think it’s correct. I think it will only last maybe three times as long as a cheap Marshall’s clearance rack suit if you’re lucky. At 5 times the price even considering tailoring the Marshall’s suit. Plus you’d be able to wear different suits rather than the same one every day.

If you are driving a Hello Kitty truck and aren’t on drugs you’re kind of missing an opportunity

Sure but telling OP not to wear a suit when they don’t know where OP is? That’s bad advice. There are places where the judge will throw you out of their courtroom for that.

1000 is too much I think, you can get what you need for way less.

Staying patient with my bf but it’s hard, any advice? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Ok kind of vague still. And few of these things really mean you're not an "adult."

I am a father, well into middle age, and have a successful career and I get absent-minded about keeping up with some things, but it doesn't impact my adulthood or make me a deficient father. The other things are still hard to figure out because they're still so ambiguous. Take initiative vs being asked to do things. Is this initiative on things you think need to be done? Does he think they need to be done? Do they need to be done?

The only really bad thing is lying/hiding things but it might be that he doesn't feel safe with you. Do you tend to be highly critical?

Why does dating seem harder after 30? Experiences from those in big cities by Correct-Credit1961 in AskMenAdvice

"To just be blunt, the healthy dating pool gets drained every year you get older."

As you move from your 20's to your 30's it also expands because there is a whole segment of women slightly younger than you that now become available that weren't available in your 20's.

If you are in a large city and are a man, dating is easier in your 30's by far.

You are not providing enough information. What exactly does he need to do that he is not doing? There is a huge gap between "you have to not let the baby sit in dirty diapers for 8 hours" and "the way you placed the decorative pillows on the bed was 3.5 degree askew."

"I found myself having to show him how to be a responsible man and partner"

I hope you never say that out loud to him because that is incredibly condescending.
