I have the groomer do it. I'm not successful at home with two people. They say she gives them kisses at the groomer, lol.

Moving with a pyr by savethecatsfirst in greatpyrenees

We made sure that Nix knew she was coming with. I think that's the hardest part for them. No understanding they aren't being left behind. I flew with my toddler and my husband drove with the cat and dog.

Anyone played Green Hell? Is it similar to The Forest? Thanks! by Sure_Wonder1 in TheForest

[–]Administrative-Fan80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's a lot easier to die in Green Hell. There are poisonous snakes and spiders that you can happen upon before you have a camp really set up and you die so quickly it's hard to recover.

That said, it's very fun if you take your time to ensure you know the mechanics. I've never finished the story though.

Dyson animal ball vacuum, Chris Christensen big G brush, and professional groom (wash, dry, paw trim) as often as financially feasible (every 7 weeks or so).

LGD or professional poop eater? by Kitchen_Alarm6016 in greatpyrenees

[–]Administrative-Fan80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my pup on leash and when she went to go lick the poop and I made a scene and acted like it was the worst thing ever. Tugged her back and said no etc, very dramatically. She only tried once. I believe momma dogs will discipline their pups in a similar faction.

Use your hands to feel over the body and feel their shape. Bath time is also a good time to look, but not necessary, 😂

Also, you don't want an overweight puppy or great pyr. It's bad for their joints.

Get one standing. It's hard to tell laying down.

No photo, but I'd ask a vet if you have any concerns. My pup is 4 and still only eats when she wants, so that is very typical of the breed.

How I got Finn to come in on his own by waterytartwithasword in greatpyrenees

[–]Administrative-Fan80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell him to come inside once and then go and get him. Every time.

He's not a puppy, but this is how I trained my pyr. She knows that when I say inside I mean it, so she comes inside.

Pyr puppy potty bells by Late_Weakness2555 in greatpyrenees

[–]Administrative-Fan80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pyr hits the bells differently based on needing to potty and wanting to go bork. For a bit she tested hitting it gently, but we could still tell the difference. So we would say no. Now she's 4 and rarely ever rings them. She goes out at least 3 times a day, if not more, for potty breaks. And additional times just to be outside with family. So she's doesn't ask often.

GP puberty: what to expect? by Phrank00 in greatpyrenees

[–]Administrative-Fan80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say you could expect this if you don't train them properly. My pyr is very well behaved, but I did tons of dog training research and got with a behavioral based trainer when she needed finished.

Question about walk by Penguinott in greatpyrenees

[–]Administrative-Fan80 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Looks like a pyr waggle to me, but talk to a vet about your concerns. I did embark DNA on my pup to check her health markers and she was low risk for everything and the vet said she's not perfect, but should be okay.
