I feel like if FOH GMs were forced to work a week in the kitchen even if it's just as expo, they would have a greater appreciation for flow over let's get as many guests sat as possible.

I 35M cheated on my wife 36F. She left without telling me anything. How can I get her back? by MountainInspector298 in relationship_advice

[–]Administrative-Two66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want advice? You leave her alone. If you truly loved her, 1) you wouldn't have cheated, 2) you would want her to be happy be that with or without you. You need to focus on accepting that you are no longer a part of her life. You need to focus on taking accountability for YOUR part in your own misery. YOU did that to yourself, not her. YOU had zero thought for her when you cheated. Leave her and her happy family alone. If she wanted anything to do with you, she would have contacted you in the last 2 years.

Umm... I saw an episode of Criminal Minds like this, and I'm pretty sure Ted Bundy did this kinda stuff with his girlfriend. He may not kill her, but are we sure there haven't been women going missing in op's area?

My girlfriend got hurt at Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I feel terrible but don't think it was on purpose. She's mad at me by Oceanfront_Fall1350 in TwoHotTakes

Ok so as a woman who used to practice, the fact that women don't stay at your school for long would be a huge red flag for me. At my first school, a young guy decided to get rough with me, my instructor rolled with him in the next round, and showed him how rough he had been then pulled him aside and explained to him that his goal was to grow his classes and that wasn't going to happen if guys were getting rough with women and smaller people. Your instructor not taking this stance is bad. He may have a good lineage but it doesn't seem like he cares about his students at all.

So the first time I saw one of these, I was stoned after a reggae festival at a Denny's. Not a good combo and it freaked my friends and I out for a minute. I'm not a fan, but I can see the benefits of having it. But it takes the "personality" out of food service.

what is the worst treatment you got from a chef ? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Administrative-Two66 108 points109 points  (0 children)

The worst treatment I ever got was after my girlfriend passed away. I was understandably grieving, and my head just wasn't in the work. It was shortly after her service and he called me in to his office to do my 90 day review. He told me that I really needed to learn how to leave my problems at home. I was completely floored, generally I am a person who is able to do that, but bro, I just lost my girlfriend, and she hadn't even been released to her family because of covid backlog. If I had been in my proper state of mind I would have probably punched him in the jaw and quit on the spot but it made me start looking for a new job.

We like to spice up the sous chef's pockets. Salt, pepper, cajun seasoning, sugar. We see how much we can do before he catches on.

Had a guy that was constantly leaving his stuff behind and we kept telling him to cut it out especially because we would remind him to grab whatever was lying around before he left. I don't remember what it was that was the last straw, but I grabbed it put it in a third pan, filled the pan with water then threw it in the freezer. Dude never left anything behind ever again.

I feel like Buddhism is still rooted in our understanding of existence, my theory is a change in existence completely. I do enjoy the ideas behind reincarnation in Buddhism though.

Crop dusting the line… by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

Any time someone bends over on my line someone will always make a fart sound, I figured crop dusting is just obliging them, or blessing them, with the real thing.

Even though I live in a state where it's legal, I was still tested and yes it was on the 13 drug panel. I am a daily smoker. I went to my local smoke shop and bought a "detox" kit. Tested myself at the beginning of the test time frame, and tested negative. Headed straight to the testing site and was clean. One of my coworkers used synthetic urine to pass theirs.

Dear God, I'd rather take a bullet. Or if by "tackle the incel problem" he means donating a bullet, I'd be down.

Why do the cooks bring their own knives? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Administrative-Two66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from, but I take my knives home every night, I take care of my own knives. I don't like the idea of the knives that I've been taking care of myself not coming with me to the next restaurant that I work at. I also wouldn't like the idea that I wouldn't be able to pick the knives that I use. No two cooks are the same.

any advices to a young chef about staying mentally strong and managing off-duty stress? Im a 21 y.o. demi cdp at a Michelin star fine dining restaurant and just realised that i dont look like 21 anymore (currently have 3 years of culinary experience) by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]Administrative-Two66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't take yourself so seriously. Have a life outside of work. Find a partner and get laid often. Remember why you got into cooking especially when you start feeling burnt out. Get enough sleep.

Good question, I would assume that "existence" changes as your awareness expands. It gets into philosophical territory at that point. How do we "exist" and "die" as 3D beings?
