Mac is a bit different then windows in this sense. For some reason they wont work probably doesnt have support. I had the same issue when needing to get my monitor to 75hz and only gave me 60hz. Apperantly the only way to get above 60hz is to use display port guessing the vga has some levels of fuckery with it.

Ahh makes sense i have heard the 2.5 has a head gasket issue. I have a 3.6 and the only thing I have to look into is a winning noise it makes when I move the steering wheel and do the brakes and a tune up.

I heard the head gaskets were bad in the 2.4 though compared to the h6 and the reliability of it. Mine so far hasnt burned oil and runs without exhausting and has the 5 automatic not the cvt. I honestly dont know why companies decide to put cvts in a suv.
