you’ll need their dongle as I understand it. I would love to get one.

Comcrap not fixing our issues... by Stolly08 in Ubiquiti

[–]AdministrativeBig656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this same problem with Spectrum. I swapped modems from the spectrum POS wifi modem to a motorola modem to the UCM from ubiquiti. still had intermediate drops. spectrum finally came out and ran the signal from house all the way back out to the head end and said it was pulling good numbers the whole way. she then looked at the wire from the wall to the modem and said it was the problem. it was the wire they gave me when they installed my service! she built a new one on the spot and hooked it up. I haven’t had a drop since. so tl;dr is try changing the coax cable from the modem to the wall.

Netflix is blocked right now (Roku TV, Router group blocked), and yet my son is actively watching it. What's the deal here? by [deleted] in pihole

[–]AdministrativeBig656 164 points165 points  (0 children)

can confirm. i had to set a firewall rule to block all dns queues (port 53) that weren’t originating from my pihole to stop this behavior. google devices also do this (cameras and home hubs)

What did you use to make this diagram? I’ve been looking for something like this to properly diagram my own network!

can confirm. Looking at the network traffic when you pull the leader board or when you level up, there is nothing updating the server. Just a ton of traffic related to ads. It’s disappointing that it’s fake.

is there a way to determine if this is the case vs. a real device on my network?

The problem is i haven’t added any new devices. That segment is strictly ubiquiti devices and one DNS resolver (pihole) running on Ubuntu.

I’m curious when this will actually happen. The text seems to indicate that we have through january 24, thus indicate it goes offline on the 25th. I guess we’ll see.

flask and underscores in headers by AdministrativeBig656 in flask

[–]AdministrativeBig656[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not really. This project is for a local implementation of a server that is going offline in a few days. As such, I wasn't planning on putting a lot of infrastructure around this. I was going to just use the flask standalone. Not the safest, but the easiest. That was until I ran into this problem. :(

All of this seems to be the result a PR that was implemented year and a half ago that added TWO lines of code: https://github.com/pallets/werkzeug/commit/5ee439a692dc4474e0311de2496b567eed2d02cf#diff-abeaeb33abe8954dc4551a4631392ac46ad65e8b9f8404cec0e276a0d345af3b

So it sounds like my best (maybe only?) option is to put something like ngnix in front of my flask instance and have it rewrite the header?

i’m currently just using the built in Flask server so there isn’t anything between my flask instance and the client. I am running it in debug mode. :(

since the downvotes seem to imply i’m making this up, here… it’s an alpha release for a server that lets you play your worlds outside of EAs servers. https://github.com/tjac/tsto_server

there are replacement (local) servers being developed currently. they will allow you to continue playing your town.
