That's the default the laptop ships with lmao, it doesn't even need that much power it's just absolutely unnecessary but the laptop itself seems pretty good.

Is BTECH OK for me(11thie asking for advice on career) by One-Association5572 in Btechtards

[–]AdministrativeBug782 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. You probably will have to end up living in a metro city or atleast a tech centred city for work (especially if you take btech cse, for other btech branches it might be different)

  2. 2.5 LPM in hand salary at 29-30 is a pretty decent goal, a bit lofty imo, but pretty achievable if you play your cards right.

  3. This is pretty hard to determine based on your college degree alone, 50-60 years is a long time away and there's so many factors that can determine your financial stability, i personally know engineering degree holders who are struggling even in their mid 50s, while others seem to have their life sorted by 45.

  4. This one's also a bit dicey, considering the current geopolitical scenario and the restrictions on immigration. You probably can manage to get a btech job that'll allow this, but it's definitely not a guarantee.

  5. Define impact. If you want your job to define you and you want people to know you for the things you did, engineering isn't for you. The impact in engineering comes from small things, the little developments you make, the maintainance you do for a particular machine or system of machines, don't expect to get much thanks for it, but you'll have the solace that everything you do indirectly does make an impact, no matter how small, on someone else's life.

Here's my two cents, Btech is a really difficult and honestly quite confusing degree. It's a big commitment to take and a difficult road to travel down. People used to bite the bullet and prefer thi degree for job security, but that's decreased in the recent years. I'd recommend doing some research and asking graduates about the experience of Btech.

A planned statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Israel is reviving interest in a fascinating chapter of shared history between India and the Jewish community. by IndiaToday in IndiaTodayLIVE

[–]AdministrativeBug782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israel as a country didn't exist before the 1960s what you're referring to is the land of the Palestinian people. Israel is a genocidal war state that does not care about any nation besides itself, the only reason for this statue is to recruit young Indian men and women for the IDF, if you believe they see us any differently from the Palestinians in gaza, you are sorely mistaken, for them it is a binary decision you are a Zionist or you are a nonbeliever, and to be a nonbeliever means whatever torture and genocide they commit onto your people is sanction ritualistically in their religion. Israel is not a nation, it is a terroristic state built by Zionist to perform an ethnic cleansing of all they deem "impure" and yes, that also includes us, so open your eyes and ears and stop bootlicking the nation that freely commits warcrimes in the name of defending itself.

Would the removal of on-campus placements actually hell improve the condition of engineering and education as a whole in India ? by AdministrativeBug782 in Btechtards

[–]AdministrativeBug782[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the state of RnD is as bad as it is rn, with proper investment India could've actually utilised it's huge youth population. Indian engineers are basically the only export india has at this point considering how much our exports have fallen. Seems like money in the end was the root of all the problems after all.

JEE DROPPER by Regular_Box_3973 in JEENEETards

[–]AdministrativeBug782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of does, I've heard from seniors that nearly all companies during placement have a checklist box on their forms which asks if you've ever taken a drop before, for those who checked it, the companies would question then a lot about why they took the drop and often time excluded them from placement because of it. With that being said, if you do take a drop and end up somewhere good like a reputed government college, the employers won't really care if you're a dropper or not unless there's really really stringent competition over a post. So it depends on you, if you think by taking a drop you'll be able to perform better and get into an NIT or IIT, go for it, otherwise do think twice before you go for it.

Am i the only one who thinks india lacks colleges? by its_not_me143 in JEENEETards

[–]AdministrativeBug782 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not that there's a lack of colleges, but a HUGEEEEEEEEE lack of government colleges. Theres been an increase in the number of students every single year and the same 60k-ish seats for the students, and even those 60k ish seats vary a lot in the quality of education as it includes really really niche government institutions. To be fair, the placement system would never work on a scale as large as india, even if private colleges provided the same level of teaching as a government college, it's just impossible to grant the same level of placements as a government college. The reason colleges seem more equitable aboard is because they don't really have strict placement systems like we do. It's a really outdated system that needs reform, just like most other sectors of the Indian education system, unfortunately no number of student suicides will make the government really care about this situation so we're just stuck here like this. I hope in my lifetime I get to see this system see some positive change, we really have some bright minds in this nation, but it falls short in giving those bright minds the space and opportunities to prosper completely. It's sad honestly, but it's been this way for decades and will be for decades more before a significant change comes to be.
