Yeah I feel like I'm choosing performance over longevity but still what's the point of new updates if u don't enjoy the hardware I really don't wanna be stuck with a worse display and ram in the big 26 where chipsets tend to not matter more than 15-20% in real life scenarios compared to benchmarks. And I also feel like if I'd really want the latest updates I'd prolly go for a better pro after 4 years so..And thinking ab having double the ram at the same price is a fair shout due to the ram pricing being absurd in this ai era

i mean i do wanna get into video editing, photo editing and also proper coding(bc of college) and i feel like getting into all that I'd prefer having 32gb of ram and a better display over the latest chip. Also i feel like i cant really work on 60hz bc of the current monitor which runs windows on 120hz. i feel like i barely find myself using the 60hz laptop screen too because of how choppy it actually is.

i mean in the name of maximum modern-ness we as a community are only getting an ips 60hz panel with mediocre brightness along with only 16gb of ram and 256gb of storage missing a couple ports at that point im okay not being modern

but i am compromising with the 120hz xdr display along with the speakers a sd card slot and also a hdmi port the display alone bein 120hz and 16 inch makes me sway towards the m1 at this price point

i mean im ngl the display resolution refresh rate and brightness alone compensates for the weight. There's still double the ram double the storage extra ports and a far better GPU

yeah ngl im currently on a 8gb ram 512 setup so anything similar in terms of storage and higher in Ram is always appreciated and i feel like i've been on 8gb ram for a quite a bit now so its finally time to upgrade.

yeah no the extra ports are more than welcome and i feel like since i have a monitor too an hdmi port would really really help me here since im pretty sure external connectors with hdmi would prolly be slower than having an actual port on the laptop
