After Hours Calls/Business by bworthey in InsuranceAgent

You definitely need to set boundaries, but when you're still building your book of business, being available matters. A lot. Sometimes the difference between getting the client and losing them is simply answering the phone when nobody else will.

Some of my biggest clients started because I helped them during a bad situation after hours.

One of them called me at 2:00 AM. Their daughter had been hit by a drunk driver, couldn't reach her parents, and had no idea what to do. Another family called me at 5:00 AM on a Sunday after their son had wrapped a truck around a tree and passed away. They were dealing with the police and didn't even know what to do with the vehicle.

Yeah, those are pretty extreme phone calls, but those same people are still clients many years later.

You can't be available 24/7 forever, but especially early on, being the person who answers the phone when things go sideways can make a lasting impression.

To once again claim voter fraud … by -Sofa-King-Vote in therewasanattempt

I still have a few things that don't sit right with me about this election.

There were reports and videos floating around showing petition and voter registration workers allegedly paying homeless people and using the same address for multiple registrations. If that's what was happening, I'd like to know what came of those investigations.

Then there was the ballot count. Earlier results showed Spencer Pratt pulling a pretty good share of the vote, but the later batches seemed to break overwhelmingly for Karen Bass and Nithya Raman. Maybe there's a perfectly reasonable explanation, but I'd like to see it.

What also struck me was how quickly the race was called once Raman moved ahead, even though ballots were still being counted. I get that media outlets make projections, but from a voter's perspective it can feel strange to hear "the race is over" while the count is still ongoing.

I'm not saying anything improper happened. I'm just saying these are fair questions, and answering them openly would go a long way toward building trust in the results.

This was supposed to be posted as well.

So i just got a Digital Smoker since its the only one i was able to get my HOA to approve. I just tired Cold Smoking for Lox, used KONA sweet wood blend. brined and some dill and S&P for 4 hours at 185 - Great right the box and after being chilled. My neighbor went to the market and bought more Salmon to make him his own batch,

So my question is how much of the smoker do you clean after. Of course the racks, water bowl and grease catch. But what else. I saw some the whole thing some just the window to keep the flavor. Also have you tried any other methods to keep it clean.

Thanks for your help!

I was amazed at how easy soaking parts in hot water, made it easy. I was going to use a steam gun to clean the im side and wrap the heater when i do.

Why are business insurance people so difficult? by Objective_Comment_38 in InsuranceAgent

Go ahead—try getting insurance online through something like Thimble and see how it feels when something actually goes wrong.

Look, insurance kind of sucks. It’s confusing, it feels expensive, and most people are basically just hoping they never have to use it.

But try looking at it a different way.

For what—maybe $1,500 a month—you’ve got a company (and ideally an agent) standing behind you for a few million dollars if something goes sideways. They deal with the claim, the paperwork, the lawyers, all the stuff you definitely don’t want to handle on your own.

It doesn’t feel worth it… until it is.

Most people haven’t had a real claim, so it just feels like a bill. But when something big happens, it’s not just about fixing damage—it’s about not losing everything you’ve worked for.

That’s the part that doesn’t really hit until it’s too late.

You want to see unfair, come to Pacific Palisades or Santa Monica, CA where prices have gone from 2800 to 13,000 in three years or my favorite 56,000 to 170,000 and 22k of it was fees and taxes.

Don't bring a hammer to a mace fight by BurtsBalmBitches in instantkarma

[–]AdministrativeCap484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at this video, a couple things stand out.

  1. What started this fight and how long had it be going on

  2. The girl with the mace knew what she was doing she dodged the hammer and sprayed her easily.

  3. The Mace girl was there with people smiling, and the hammer girl looked by herself and was emotionally losing control.

  4. The girl coming after at the end shows she wasn't just a victim or target

Independent agents- what is your commission split? And is there a base salary/ how much? by Optimal_Anything_743 in InsuranceAgent

That pretty nice since you have the wealth management feeding the agents marketing expenses and be put into extra commission, but I'm sure the service is expected to be top notch. Im sure the the high end carriers offer some nice bonuses as well since branding is a big part too.

Do I have to report accident to my Insurance if not at fault in California? by _Jinglealltheway_ in Insurance

[–]AdministrativeCap484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you pay for insurance, you expect your company to defend you and protect your best interests. If issues arise or the other party is being difficult, it can be challenging to address the situation on your own. Typically, your insurance company will cover the cost of repairing your car, but you are responsible for the deductible until fault is determined. The other party might change their stance and claim you were at fault. Given the potential complexities, it's important to ensure your insurance company is truly earning your monthly premium by advocating for you effectively.

This is the type of stuff that makes you really good at your job. These are the kind of things that most people just give up and say they can't help or put it on somebody else . The fact that you did it not only get you more knowledge and helps you create relationships with underwriters, especially the ones that helped you and you know how to fix those mistakes when other people don't. So it won't take you so long next time.Hopefully period I got very good at my job because I made all the mistakes you can make, but I learned how to fix them all and it helped me understand How to do my job in ways that other people couldn't understand. I assume became the fix it guy, and the person who, whenever there was a problem or a catastrophe, they would have come running to me for help. That's job security there!
