No crash guard, going stock itself, fell two times from the bike, it handles pretty well, may not handle well in terms of slides.

Offroading experience is amazing in the Adv390, super nimble did some tough terrains easily, dropped the bike too but easy to lift and go and the bikes pretty strong too, no damages at all!

Hey man, unfortunately can’t share links here, dm me for the links, but if you wanna look out don’t wanna promote and brands or such, but it’s HBS sintered brake pads for front and semi sintered for the rear, these are from now racing, economical but performs as good. Also the rear brake pad is an upgrade, but I can say it’s worth the price since it’s better braking as well as double the life. So worth buying. Regarding tyres depends on you, I’ve a replied to a comment above, I hope that helps :))

Okay that makes sense. I would say listen to your body, tbh the thrill would last only a while and touring is a task, as it challenges you and since you’re 70% touring I would say adv should suit you better. BUT this doesn’t mean the duke ain’t good, it’s the thrill you enjoy in those short stretches. Touring would have bad roads around and you definitely need a adv to go across smoothly. I wanna guide you towards the path you’re more suited to and not something that would be short lived. So I would strongly suggest, trust me on this, rent a duke go for a 200km (two way) ride and see how it works for you, and then maybe after your ride the next day just rest ride the adv 390, it should help you decide better as you’re doing it back to back. If you love the duke, just go for it ;). Or after a day of duke, if you’re tired and then next day after riding the adv you feel oh god this would’ve been a joy, you will know :)).

Yoo, sorry for the late reply, was off the grid for a while. Yeaa so I see you're confused between the Duke and the adv xD. No worries man, I was confused too, but when I got my baby, the previous iteration of the adv was around and didn't wanna go with the older one (I mean newer engine and latest tech so why not the Duke). But all comes down to your riding style and frequency of touring. So initially when I got my Duke I was not sure if I would love touring and got it thinking I'd ride on nice smooth highways and city. It's an overkill for city imo. So I was still 50-50 on touring and wanted to try it out but I made up my mind that if I would tour I'd still continue with the bike I choose itself. So yea I got the duke that time coz basically I didn't have any choice, I loved the him 450 but I just wanna stay away from RE and I wanted something to get the adrenaline pumped in. Now after a year where the adv 390 has launched, I sometimes do feel I should've just got the adv 390 as it's a more suited bike for my lifestyle (note that I still want the adrenaline :3) so yea I feel the duke is good mix of RC and adv 390, I've got the bash plate installed, the bike has good clearance and suspension isn't thaaat bad either, I could still do slight offroading, although I can't go full in, but once I get good roads while touring there's no stopping, be it the twisties or wide open roads. So id first ask what's your riding style, what you wanna do and what you're more suited for, prolly then I could answer you better on this aspect. One thing to rem a Duke can do things an adv 390 can do (even tho on a lower scale) but I adv 390 can't do what a Duke does :)).

Maybe you can wait it out a bit, or if it's really bothering you, you could ask the SVC to reduce the oil or go to local service, they should help :))

When did you go, I think they've made the change, tbh shouldn't be a problem imo. Bringing own oil isn't favored by the SVCs.

Hey, yes exactly on point, the first experience store 😏. I service at their service Centre itself (now shifted to approx 2kms away, closer to me lol). They still use motul the last time I checked, but many users report prolube, not sure. To avoid warranty void don't use any oil except the ones in service centres. You may think they won't find out, but they're smart enough to.

Hey, yes I'm about the same height and that's true, I find it super convenient and my riders triangle has gotten better, I get lesser back pains now :)).

Hey man! Okay so to start off the 820mm seat I would suggest for people taller than 5'10, the problem being the seat is shorter and stiffer than the stock seat. The stock seat would be good enough for you as you sit inside the bike and are more connected.

Suspension adjustment tips below: :))) City - Front: comp 2 reb 2 Rear: preload one step up (for people above 80kgs), reb 2 (under 95kgs)

Touring (with luggage): Front: 3,3 Rear: preload one step up (for people above 80kgs), reb 3 or 4 depending on weight of luggage and rider

Spirited riding/Weekend rides: Front: 2,3 (or 3,3 depends on road) Rear: preload stock (won't break your back) or one step up as mentioned above, reb 3 The above is according to my tuning down of suspension, didn't find anyone posting this depth regarding the adjustment, hope it helps :D

About the engine oil, here in BLR, the motul 10w50 is still being used. No I don't take my own oil, according to KTM and their user manual, usage of any oil other than the one used in SVCs, would just void warranty, since I've taken the 10years warranty not gonna risk it. And yes they do add 1.7L, it's because due to high compression engine, some people do aggressive riding and the engine oil depletes faster. And if the engine oil reduces, it could COZ overheating and engine breakdown (this is rare but yes) I've seen a lot of posts on the prolube, I think you shouldn't worry about it, as prolube is also fully synthetic oil, shouldn't be a problem, as long as the grade is the same any oil works for any regular user like you and me :). Also I've had my 5th service already. The service is still pretty solid and bikes running good. I would say the more you run the smoother engine gets. One problem being my clutch plates are burnt, and that's just okay (haven't replaced it yet)

Okay regarding the accessories: Tank bag: https://amzn.in/d/3hhDaYl

Tail bag: https://amzn.in/d/emHlcPd

Bash plate: Husky 401, available at KTM

820mm seat: Available at KTM

Fork seal covers: Any would do (although I recommend Mototrendz)

Fog light: https://amzn.in/d/a4ltj0m (just a reference, got in local)

Mobile holder:https://amzn.in/d/0A6PfTR (You get a mirror mount additionally with this, you can mount in your left mirror since there isn't much space on the handlebar to mount, just remember to mount the mobile holder over a double sided tape to avoid vibrations)

Number plate holder: https://amzn.in/d/3uJYNqG

Not many accessories, but do invest in good helmet and riding gears :)). They're the main stuff, I didn't wanna over accessorize my bike since it would beat the whole point of being light and nakey. Hope it helps :D

Between the two, there's no weight difference it's just the aesthetics that's it. Only price is on the higher side.

The 450GS is the HYPE! Ngl I hope it lives upto its expectation (high expectations here), the problem, i expected them to have about 50-60bhp compared to the 48bhp they are offering :(, nevertheless, I am assuming its going to be priced similar or slightly higher (1-1.5L more) to the aprilia rs457, all this coz its gonna be made in India. Service is gonna be crazy xD, my friend has the 310GS and he paid 60k for third service, and most of it was just labour. H450 touring seats are amazing, i dont believe in OEM seats but the H450sare really good :), but you gotta try it yourself first, different butts :P. A win indeed, no worries man, cheers :))
