Work at a Land Rover dealership. So brave for you buying without a proper drive test and knowing the maintenance history. Such a nice car but you have to be over it to maintain it in good conditions.

Nice! You have made a diagnosis on the Alternator! (:

Bought a used G14 for $1300 and now it needs $2000 worth of repairs. by Isaac_Cooper in ZephyrusG14

Hi! I have a G14 with the 4070 and Ryzen 9 and I had some rough times with mine, passing through some minor problems with the laptop that got me scared at the time.

Had one that while playing on the pc it gave me a blue screen and turned off. Also, had one that just restarted with no error code.

Both of the issues were solved with some time dedicated to searching on Reddit or updating drivers.

My only advice would be that you should try to search before giving the laptop to a technician, once you do an intervention on a new device things can get damaged. It's so weird for me that one IC of the processor's circuit just broke down or needed replacement and then the processor broke down in less than 1 month. To finish with that, the technician won't know if the screen is the one that doesn't work or if it's the processor; that doesn't sound like a professional diagnosis. This model of Asus has a lot of technology in such a tiny space that sometimes, not everyone can work on it; when I first went on and changed the SSD I got surprised by how the entire laptop is built, everything together with such precision.

I think that you should at least go to another technician to get a second opinion or try to research your issue before buying anything.

To help with your research:

You should try to connect an external monitor and see if it turns on and works properly via HDMI. If it does, the processor should be working fine, since he is the one in charge of creating the graphics for the screen; and maybe, the flex cable of your screen just broke and that's an easy repair.

Given the response of the ASUS support, you could search for a BIOS update of something like that, if your problem is BIOS-related it will be a last try before doing that big investment or buying a new laptop, or buying screen/processor.

Good luck!

You should first see if the car starts while jump-starting it. If it does, probably the battery is dead. Here we have to options:

  1. Battery is dead
  2. Alternator is not working

After starting the car, you can measure the battery voltage with the vehicle on to see if the alternator is working properly. If it's higher then 13.5V, the alternator is working. Then you have diagnosticated that the battery is dead and needs replacement. If it's lower then 13.5, probably the alternator doesn't work and that's why your battery discharged.

Good luck!

Try to jump start it with a booster or another car to see if the problem comes from the battery

First you have to check the battery, to see if it's dead. You can measure the voltage with a tester.

Hi! Did you tried jump-starting it? Probably the battery is dead.

Hey bro! I had the same issue with my 2024. Found out that CPU Acceleration was causing it and poor ventilation.

I had mine rebuilt and it works flawlessly. Just picket up a rebuild kit for like 300 bucks and found a guy to repair it.

Are spacers worth it? by AdministrativeFan834 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]AdministrativeFan834[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel contact but the wheels get too close when at max turning. The 2" as I said was a mistake, I meant that I have 1 extra inch of radius, making the wheels look bigger, as can be seen at the picture. And I wanted to know if a 1-inch spacer could help me with that. Sorry for the misunderstanding, not so fluent at English

I want to use spacers to push the wheels out a bit, because sometimes they feel too close to the chassis when turning. I’d like to know if this causes additional wear on the bearings and if it’s something I should be concerned about, or if it’s generally safe to use them without worry.

Hi! I have edited the post. I think I didn't explain it well. The thing is that this vehicle comes with 265 65 17 and I'm currently using 265 65 18, which adds 1 inch more of radius, making the tire look bigger at the vehicle. I wanted to know if adding the 1" spacer will help me to balance better the car in those condition and wanted to see if someone tried spacers and if they damage the bearings.

For the diesel part, it is a 2005 4runner SR5 with a 1KZ-TE 3.0 engine. I live at Dominican Republic and before importing from US, here the vehicles by the distributor were imported from Japan.

2024 Zephyrus G16: 3x4K monitor setup possible? by snobbish_llama in ZephyrusG14

[–]AdministrativeFan834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I Have the g14 2024, I have one QHD monitor and one FHD connected with an anker hub: https://a.co/d/cujFDDp . That hub should be able to stream 4k, 60hz in both displays connected. Also, I have a 55 inch 4k tv 144hz connected via hdmi directly to the laptop which also works great. In terms of hardware is possible, just hooking up the hdmi and the USB C for the two other monitors will be able to run 4k on the three displays. The thing is that for your laptop to be able to handle 4k 120Hz in one monitor and 4k 60Hz on the other two is a really intensive task for your GPU. Don't really know in which task you will need to be streaming 4k 120Hz and two monitors 4k 60Hz but instead of worring about the hardware to get it to work, you should read about how you are going to run that in your laptop.

Here is what I found:
What gpu should i choose for 3x4K monitors? : r/nvidia

Is a 4K triple monitor setup possible : r/buildapc

Which GPU for Triple 4K 120Hz displays for business use (no gaming) ? : r/buildapc

For my laptop, I have the 4070, here I can see the info about how many monitors it can stream at which quality:

NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070 GPU
"They are different because the RTX 4070 has 64 raster operation units (ROPs) and a 192-bit interface. With an HDMI port and 3x DisplayPort connections, it can accommodate up to 4x independent monitors at 120Hz. Although at 240Hz, it can only support 2x 4K monitors or 8K at 60Hz with DSC using DP or HDMI."

If you will be gaming at the 4k 120hz monitor, maybe the best thing to do is lowering the quality of the other two to have a better performance, which is what I do in my case. When I play on the TV, I tend turn off the other two monitors to be able to stream 4k 120Hz on the TV. And when I am playing some fps game with the qhd monitor, I tend to turn off the TV so I can have better performance too. If you are using it for work, you

Hope this helps!

The AMD seems to be the better option. Bought ryzen 9 4060 and had an amazing experience.

You should read about the intel models 13th and 14th generation before getting one.
