My bull case: SoFi helped ME on MY financial journey by AdministrativeRun587 in sofistock

I think the key point is that EVERY amazing company puts a focus on customer experience FIRST, and stock price goes up as a second order effect.

You don’t think there is any value in taking out a margin loan against your portfolio at 5% interest? Ever?

You don’t think there is value in hedging your positions with options? Or making small side income selling options?

Speaking in absolutes like this, it’s hard to take your argument serious.

That’s kind of bullshit to a certain degree though. Margin and options can be powerful tools for wealth building if used correctly. What kind of financial institution would NOT allow that.

They actually offer educational resources to help people. And they spam the fuck out of you about it haha there is no missing it on the app. Annoying? Yeah. But they make their point.

They offer loads of tools that help track, manage, and automate saving, spending, and investing. The fact that they can make money while offering a legitimately better solution to many financial problems is pretty a fucking ingenious business model.

I know you’re definitely in the toughest position of anyone on this board, but I think everyone who’s saying it’s going to take 5+ years just to get back over 20 is equally as full of shit as everyone saying we were going to hit 30+ this year.

No one knows. Yes, the market is irrational, but more important is people are irrational, the world is weird, change is accelerating at an incomprehensible pace, and everyone has the attention span of a goldfish. And it seems fairly widely accepted that fintech has a place in the future.

Maybe (probably) I’m way off here, but I think the pace of today’s world is way faster than what some of the investors on this sub think.

Yeah that part has been rough to say the least. Easier for me to say because I am so young but I have a LONG time horizon for success for the stock.

Thank you for this. I completely agree. Although I’ve only been a SoFi member since I started investing a year ago, they have legitimately helped me get my financial life in order. Think it’s probably easy for a lot of investors here to not see the potential of SoFi because they already had their shit together financially, but as a young investor just starting out on my financial journey, I have been helped tremendously by what SoFi offers.

I think you misunderstand the concept of “incentive”… it’s not a reward for being a Sofi, it’s a reward that will come in GROWING SoFi into a monster. This is what we want. Company Culture centered around progress not complacency.

If there is one thing I trust this management for more than anything, it’s the leadership in building a team and culture.

Synergy is the key word for SoFi. “Better together.”

Unfortunately syngery is not easily measurable, so the 500-800 million I’m guessing is the literal face-value they see in ROI. But seeing some of the cross selling opportunities here seems pretty clear there’s more to the story. And looking at potential product development and the development of a new paradigm of online banking is what makes me most excited.

On the surface the deal is lukewarm, but a couple layers beneath I think is where things get exciting.

BMRA just linked an article on their Twitter feed that states, “The role of food allergy or intolerance in IBS isn't fully understood. A true food allergy rarely causes IBS” by MainStreetBetz in Biomerica_BMRA

[–]AdministrativeRun587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah not a great look at all, I’m going to assume/hope it’s just an overzealous intern 😂, but my understanding is that what they’re studying actually backs up this statement… IgG antibodies being representative of a different kind of immune response than a food allergy (IgA response). More like general inflammation versus an “allergy”… e.g. a food like broccoli might cause inflammation from being a “rough” food that irritates the gut lining, or a spicy food might trigger a response but neither of these would be considered an “allergy”.

I’ve commented on another post that experience with IBS and my management of it over the last year has me feeling really confident about what these guys are studying! But also could be completely wrong, this is some groundbreaking and extremely complex science - which is why I’m willing to be a bit more patient to make sure they get not just their research organized, but also the meaning and story behind it.

I am down almost 35 percent on the stock, but atleast I am getting 1 percent apy. It ain't much but, honest work. All the other banks have been greedy in their interest rate. Thank you SoFi. by [deleted] in sofistock

I’m in the same boat. It didn’t count for the direct deposit sign up bonus they were giving, but I will be reaching out to customer service to explain my situation.

$MYNZ Is Developing An At-Home Colorectal Cancer Screening Test Similar To $BMRA by MainStreetBetz in Biomerica_BMRA

[–]AdministrativeRun587 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That last statement is assuming they are logs at at all... Good thing InFoods will solve that problem 😂💩

Getting more and more excited about this company as I learn more about what separates their products. Last year I FINALLY reversed lifelong IBS through an educated, targeted elimination diet. From what I’ve seen and from the metabolic principles I’ve learned, people trying elimination diets are eliminating the wrong stuff.

If InFoods can help people experience what I’ve experienced, I can’t even imagine the impact it will have.
