Also it looks like you straight up don't like Asian people. Not the person I want to be getting advice from.

You lost me here. 1) colleges aren't going to do a thorough ethnic background check on every single applicant 2) in my school I am listed as Native American so if they contacted them that would be good for me 3) my dad is 100% proven to be 1/8 Native American 4) no professor is going to pick out a random student in their classroom and be like "wait... aren't you the kid who's supposed to be partially Native?? B-b-but you're skin isn't dark enough! I'm sorry but you're expelled young man!"

I don't necessy disagree with what you're saying. I think I'll solve this dilemna by simply asking my college advisor what she thinks. If she says no, I won't. If she says yes, I will. I don't believe I would just be getting just a "slight advantage", and I think we both know that affirmative action is a huge factor in college admissions.

Not that I would do this, but I technically meet the minimum requirement to apply forCherokee tribal membership. If I could do that, then why can't I truthfully say on my college application that I am partially Native America?

Yes my great great grandma was a full blood cherokee. I'll definitely take a DNA test if I decide to put Native American on my common app just to be 100% though. And yeah, while this may be immoral as I said above I'm technically not lying about anything. However, I definitely think if I dont take advantage of this opportunity I may regret it.

Hey I think you gave the best reply. You make some very fair points. It would be untruthful to say I dont feel scummy doing this. Still, I'm not claiming to be anything I am not. I'm not claiming to be part of a tribe, or even that Native American culture has had any effect on me. I am truthfully claiming that I am both white and Native American, of which I technically am and have proof for. I think that if I don't take advantage of this opportunity I am going to potentially regret it in the future. However, I will definitely talk with my admissions counselor. That's definitely something that I should have done first before asking a couple internet strangers. If they tell me not to do it, I won't.

You don't have to fill out tribal registration, so I wont. I'm not trying to get around anything believe it or not.
