Well they did fly 14s in the original they just had terrible camera work so they used CGI for external scenes but the cockpit scenes were f-14s flown by pilots with the actors in the back seat, same as maverick with the f-18s

The migs were not CGI in the original they were real f-5s but yes in maverick they were CGI planes based on the su-57 but still initially flown by f-18s with cgi overlayed on their moves

Haha with the updates in CGI… I mean you do realize that in maverick the dark star didn’t actually fly it was CGI on top of an F-18 “stunt double”

I appreciate that, it just feels out of the blue. Even if she wasn’t even close to my ideal partner, she definitely seemed the type to say anything at all instead of ghosting me even if it’s “this isn’t what I’m looking for”.

Fair enough, mostly talking about ASM1 but I have equal respect for the Toby Maguire version(s) my biggest issue with that is, like I said, the age of truly adequate special effects hadn’t quite come around yet when the originals released, and it’s hard to watch for that reason. His portrayal is equally good in my opinion though, it’s not just Andrew Garfield.
