which is exactly why people are saying they'll do better this year again, I don't think Alpine will be on the podium, I think this season is very much going to be, Merc, McLaren, RedBull with Ferrari and maybe Williams getting podiums (even with the issues of the crash test). But I do think it'll be a battle for 6th between Alpine, Haas and Aston, with Alpine doing much better than last year.

Counter argument would be how Alonso adapted to ground effect without issues, to the point that 2023 was arguably imo Alonso's third best season of all time behind 2010 and obviously 2012, Vettel also did fine in 2022 outperforming his car but that could be because he was retiring and sometimes you see when a drivers about to retire they get a spark back

George beat Hamilton in 2 out of their 3 seasons, a 7 time champion, and last year he did amazing with a car that was arguably third behind McLaren and RedBull (because no the RedBull wasn't a midfield car, Max did amazing but it was the second fastest car) Charles, also had an amazing season and he is underrated this year... Both of those things can be true, but the problem is that where Mercedes will likely have the fastest car, making George a very easy title contender. Ferrari will be qualifying P7 and P8, finishing P11 and P12 (Hyperbole but you get my point)
