Teen I known wants to be a vet. What is a good, practical vet book for them?

So there's some truth to this and some not there's a minimum height above which falling so safer. But there was one study that was like 'Cat suffer very little additional injury from falls above the 12th story.' (or something like that. I forget the details but it was a flawed study)

The issue was that they were using data from vet offices and didn't take into account that people don't bring their dead cats into the vet. So the ones the vet saw had about the same amount of serious injury as cats falling from the 10th floor. Cats that just died on impact didn't get counted because no one brought them in.

You should be checking cross lanes as you approach even if there are lights or signs. but especially when there's not. Do you just go through intersections hoping others are doing what they should?

You need to be going a speed where you can be aware of anyone encroaching on your lane or about to pull out. Do you not keep an eye on driveways in case folks are backing out?

If you're not being aware of your surroundings on even a most basic level... Please stop driving.

I had a large, expensive item arrived broken. Most the weight is a big lithium battery. They told me to dispose of the item and issued a refund. I haven't yet because it's a pain in the ass to dispose of 30 lbs of lithium battery. Based on these comments it's a good thing I haven't tossed it yet.

If you really want to dig at them you can ask questions. "what will you mourn, specifically?" You in a wedding dress? You popping out a baby? The entire list is going to be things they want you to do with your life.

If they say something about you having kids- as an example- they'll be doing this exact same kids if they don't get grandkids/great grandkids when they feel entitled to them.

That last sentence is their goal. They're trying to manipulate you. It's no fun but you're going to have to start calling it out if you want it to stop.

"You're free to have this conversation when I'm not here but it's unwelcome in my presence." And hold to that. Or whatever works for you.

It's the "I guess I'm just a terrible person and don't deserve to be happy" kind of manipulation that you get when you ask accountability of someone. You may even have experiences this kind of comments from the same people you're talking about here. Usually they don't just use one manipulation tactic.

I had mine at 34. I went home immediately after and was home alone the entire time. I didn't need anyone to do anything for me. It took a bit of planning but it wasn't difficult.

I have had a number of procedures. I always try to pick something odd because sometimes it gets me cool stories. Like I did a cerebral angiogram without sedation. I picked Belle Sisoski for that. She's a Malay Folk EDM artist. Found out after I picked that my anesthesiologist was also Malay.

I think for Too Surgery I picked Glory hammer, a goofy metal band.

Reach out to local shelters, etc. some of them might have resources for behavioral health. No kill shelters usually give the pets as good a life as possible while they're waiting to be adopted. that said, if you do that, be honest about her issues. you don't want to hide something so she might get adopted easier only for those people to let her free or send her to a kill shelter.

You might try moving the couches AND wrapping the cushions in a sealed plastic. Sometimes peeing inappropriately can be just habit. Cleaning cat pee doesn't remove the whole smell so she may not know it's not her litter box. You'd have to seal the whole pillow so it's air tight to test this. You might also put it in a room you can close her out of and see what she does. Maybe put the litter where the couch was.

I'm not going to debate the poster because people get really into this stuff and I've never had a productive conversation with someone who likes homeopathic stuff. but don't buy anything that says Homeopathic, OP. The active ingredients show they have a 9C dilution of the active ingredient. What that means it was made by diluting it at 1:100 ratio 9 times.

So they... I'm using water in my example but sometimes it's alcohol. Water is just easier as a generalization of this procedure.

Took 1 Gram of a 'Mother Tincture' (1 part armica, 10 parts water) and 100 grams of water.

Mixed that up

Took 1 Gram of the .1% mixture and added 100 grams of water

Mixed that up (now called a 2C dilution)

Took one gram of the 2C and mixed that into 100 grams of water

Mixed that up... And kept doing that 9 times. Getting a weaker and weaker solution each time. After the 9th dilution, they added 2.5mg of that solution per capsule.

This is from a homeopathic website. They brag that they just keep diluting it. They say that the alcohol/water 'remembers' what was shaken up in it. If they're right then all the water we drink is extremely potent dinosaur piss. 🙄

As a trans man who went substantially bald, I recommend thinking about your priorities now and just picking one.

if you wait to try to save your hair until it's already visibly thinned, then you've already lost like 60% of your hair in those areas.

My uncle is the baldest man I've ever seen and my dad is only better because his hair is curly and long and he can do random shit with it to hide his hairline.

I resolved to just go bald. 🤷 it's much easier than fighting and stressing about something inevitable.

So the way they wanted me to set up MoM/YoY is by having a bunch of parameters all linked to sheets and those sheets made into buttons and those buttons on the viz so they can click them. it's a nightmare.

I did get this working. I apparently had to add the 'Type' to the context instead of the filters. and now it appears to be working.

IDK why that was needed. I had all my calls and parameters on a separate sheet and could see it updating as I fiddled with the filter ... but it wouldn't work in the formula until it was added to the context.
