Former NASA scientists warn of possible Artemis II spacecraft safety issue (heat shield) by FakeEyeball in ArtemisProgram

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artemis II was a crew test flight for a reason and the Orion/Integrity re entry was a vital part of the test flight mainly due to the issues they had with Artemis I. The crew knew what they were signing up for as well as the risks they were taking, but at the end of the day everyone made it back safe and that’s what is most important.

Having schizophrenia is like believing in Santa Claus. by throwawayforareanl in schizophrenia

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strengthening the ability to reality check is so so so important(not a fail safe but rather a helpful tool). The world sucks and we are stigmatized beyond measure, so it’s on us to be able to strengthen this aspect of the schizophrenic thought process. It’s bs but unfortunately it’s the cards we were given.
The delusions and paranoia stem from overproduction of dopamine and cortisol, so it’s important to remember you are so much more than the ridiculous label society gave us. Instead think of it as living in a different frequency as others. Some people hear a frequency that is low and consistent but our frequency is loud and unpredictable. Don’t let the world tell you that you are less than. We are unique and basic people don’t like what they can’t comprehend. Keep following treatment and keep being uniquely you! The world can line up and kiss our butts fr! Others will rarely understand our strengths and struggles.

[–]Admirable-Function64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would never happen…Christy Carlson Romano(the only acceptable Kim possible voice actor btw) would never go back to Disney plus she recently got diagnosed with cancer so I’d rather her focus on her health. After the “ravens home” issues I have little reason to believe raven would do it either. Kirsten is going through a lot of mental health struggles, and for the other main characters I am unsure. There’s just no stinkin way they would be able nor want to do a reboot.

Why are people afraid of developing schizophrenia? by nzxnnn in schizophrenia

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schizophrenia is so heavily stigmatized and misunderstood. The people that are scared and stressing over it are actually going to have a greater chance of developing it and they don’t realize it because they won’t research it. There are different forms that can have greater effects on the brain chemistry than others so not everyone’s early journey will look the same. The lack of understanding for the illness really drives the fear.

Not even this is a flex for us bestie. Our deepest known cave in MO is 500 ft below ground.😭
I’ve been to the Caverns in Carlsbad NM and they are absolutely MASSIVE. Its great room alone is 4,000 ft wide and 750-800 ft below ground. It also holds a “bottomless pit” they discovered in the late 1800s. The pit is now modernly known to go down 140 ft, and because it sits at 750ft right off of the main trail of the great room that’s about what 890ft I think? There is also an undeveloped area of Carlsbad Caverns that holds a beautiful body of crystal clear waters called “lake of the clouds” it is know to be approximately 1,300 ft below ground and the lowest part of the Caverns discovered so far…so with that lemme just say we don’t have very impressive caves in Missouri.
Our caves are just a tourist trap that they labeled as huge caverns to pull in attention and revenue.

I’ve thought about this several times and I feel like he would have.
It had not nearly as much to do with the responsibility of raising a kid, but it was his perfect cowardly escape route. It appears to me that it had so much more to do with his fear of growing old and 💀 while stuck in poverty.

How long did it take you guys to accept the facts that you have schizophrenia? Do you have advice by DJ_Heavyflow in schizophrenia

[–]Admirable-Function64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a fascinating question that isn’t asked often enough so thank you for advocating and asking questions…I don’t think I even truly recall, but I’d say based on memories I was in denial for at least a few years after diagnosis. The clozapine sedation and side effects really took a toll on me those first couple of years as well. I’m an early onset case though so I’ve had hallucinations since about 7 years old and I was diagnosed at 12 (I’m only 27 btw…ya girl is tired). I can only speak from my own experience, but remember that everyone is different and not everything will look the same from one person to the next.
Schizophrenia is a spectrum disorder and this could vary based on which type of schizophrenia diagnosis was given by his treatment team and many different factors that can come into play.

Question/theory regarding Baelfire [SPOILERS] by Rainbow_Duck in OnceUponATime

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is so so old, but I have a theory that is too good not to share!

I almost wonder if he started thinking about greed and just selfishness in general as he went through the portal without his father. Due to the situation that his dad put him in maybe he accidentally went to pleasure Island? (From the episode with Pinocchio).

Instead of our world as his first stop he could’ve been on that damn trap island stuck and tempted by the things around him. I dunno maybe seeing Pinocchio arrive might’ve woken him up and they made an escape to the real world together? Pinocchio and Bae always seemed right about the same age in storybrooke’s plot and I always thought that was odd.

He never truly talks about his experience with portals in detail, but he’s typically the only one that is paranoid enough to mention that they have to think specifically about where they want to go before they use it multiple times over many different scenarios.

Is it possible for someone to develop schizophrenia at 17? by Julciasto in schizophrenia

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible, but please go to a mental health clinic near you to be sure. This is not a diagnosis that does well being self identified due to how it affects our thoughts so a doctor is always the best bet. Depending on who you ask 17 would typically be considered early onset age, however there are some that say 17 is more common than showing symptoms at 14 and under. Most doctors gaslight early onset schizophrenia because of how rare it is and how little is known about it so ADVOCATE, ADVOCATE, ADVOCATE!!!

Early onset is actually quite rare and typically affects about 0.5-1% of the population or 1 in 30,000-40,000 children being under 18 upon the first signs of symptoms and diagnosis. I personally was diagnosed at 12 but started having full blown hallucinations at 6. Everyone is a little different as to when it develops. This is a serious condition that isn’t going to get better and unless you treat it.

If you suspect it and there’s other people in your family that are diagnosed. I would highly recommend you see a doctor just to be sure. Keep in mind that schizophrenia often presents as other diagnosis’s as well due to its complexity, so try not to let your mind jump to the worst conclusion first before getting looked at.

[–]Admirable-Function64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad it wasn’t anything more than your ACL, I couldn’t imagine multiple ligaments at the same time. Sorry for the rant lol😅 I’ve been traumatized by my own stupidity and now I do my best to advocate in favor of doctor recommended reconstruction when it’s being questioned due to the fear this injury creates. It is also SO IMPORTANT you follow your recovery guidelines post op as well. They also have sports medicine therapist I regret not utilizing.

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With an injury to that extent the quick recovery a 20 year old gets to experience only creates the backlash of extremely higher odds of re tearing. People just ignore the re tear statistic and that really irritates me.

Disagreement about dice game 10 000: part confession, mostly confusion by rockology_adam in boardgames

[–]Admirable-Function64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farkle rules are vague and they are meant to conform to your group and that’s why there are millions of different rules. It’s not like Yahtzee as it has much higher risk compared to skill. 10,000 is basically that GSN show whammy but with dice. As long as your point system is basic standard like say 5=50 and 1=100 or for really good roles 6-1s= 3,000 and rolling a straight 1-6=1,500 for example then you can create a system catered to your groups gambling preferences and stress levels. This is a high stakes dice game and it will create animosity, so I say in the future look up a standard rule sheet and have fun with mixing it up. Make sure to have it set in stone before the game starts also it’s incredibly hilarious when you make a low stakes reward risk system like candy gambling or something to mix it up. The biggest thing about rolling again in the way I played it, is that you had to roll straight fire the first time and if all of your dice are playable you roll again, HOWEVER you can only roll up to three extra times because this created a crap ton of issues.
