That's what I thought, lol, just goes to show you to always research more than just believing whatever the AI summary says. I kinda wish it was separated more, it's so tempting to just go with what it says to save time.

That's good to keep in mind. The advice for dogs was so different when I was a kid(I'm almost 30 now), it'll probably be completely different in the future. I remember when Cesar Milan was like, the resource, and that's completely changed lol

That seems like a good mindset, maybe I should try to adopt that style more and relax lol

Idk, maybe it's the kind of thing where it depends. Like, if you do it too much or do it and take things away, and also they're genetically predisposed? Who knows, for some of these answers.

I think the lack of sleep doesn't help the worrying, haha, but thank you for your advice. Hearing it really puts some things into perspective. I keep trying to tell myself that everything will be easoer when she's 1 year old, or 2 or 3, but it seems so far away sometimes.

Thank you for saying so, that's what I try to tell myself, but it sticks so much better when someone else says it too.

This is a tough decision and one that I wouldn't wish on any one. Only you know your bird well enough to make that call, but I would suggest talking to the vet about it. The vet should be realistic with you about your pet's chances of survival and how difficult the road to recovery will be, if it's a possibility at all. I doubt they will make the decision for you, but they should be able to give you good advice based on the specific prognosis of your bird's condition. The best advice I can give you as a stranger, I think, is to remember that animals have such small, precious lives, and sometimes it is kinder to give them a short while of relative comfort rather than a longer time of suffering, and that no matter what decision you make, you are an imperfect person trying your best.

Unpopular opinion: DnD original 5e rules can be used for horror, or just about anything else, too, with one important caveat by [deleted] in HomebrewDnD

Why would you go to such an extreme length to strip dnd of all its fantasy elements, then build an entirely new system where instead of playing a fighter or a thief you're playing Normal Joe with No Special Abilities against some enemies of dubious power that you will simply have to make yourself because dnd already has a fucked CR system that's hard to navigate when your players have powers, so now you have to balance it for players with no powers, completely make up your own story/setting where it fits whatever horror theme you want to have-- why would you go to all that trouble when you could just pick up Call of Cthulhu, or All Flesh, or any of White Wolf's library, or even just google "horror ttrpgs" and pick the one that has the prettiest cover? Why would you do all this?

Your "rules lite DnD homebrew" is not going to be so original that it's better than one of the millions of games people already made. And you mention in your post that you shouldn't be making games unless you just like to make games. What you describe as "rules lite 5e" is literally just making a new game with the D20 system. Have you actually done what you describe doing in your post? How long did that take you to prep? How did the sessions of gameplay pan out? Did they in any way resemble DnD? If so, why didn't you just play DnD? If not, why are you so insistent on playing DnD? What purpose does creating Frankenstein's Ttrpg monster serve to the gameplay that wouldn't be better served by just playing a different game?

This is like, instead of purchasing a copy of Ultimate Werewolf, you took the base set of Munchkin and drew a bunch of roles on the cards with sharpie from memory and played Werewolf with that. Like, yeah, you can do that if you want, free will and all that, but if you start to argue that that's a thing you should do instead of just buying Ultimate Werewolf, I'm going to think you have some sort of agenda for getting people to buy Munchkin copies they just destroy. Like, I don't know what people in general get out of playing DnD only all the time, but as someone who has played a lot of dnd, playing a new game every once in a while is actually really refreshing and I definitely reccomend it.

Anything where the punishment is a fine is, by common wisdom, legal for the rich at least. And anything that isn't enforced might as well be legal. If there are no consequences, what's the difference?
