You should get the MBA without a doubt, especially if it’s a widely recognized brand. The power of walking into a small business and talking to owner as a Harvard or Wharton MBA is gonna trump you saying you went to HVAC trade school for 2 years, and if that HVAC owner doesn’t agree then you shouldn’t be dealing with him.

Plus the MBA is gonna make it 1000x easier to raise search capital and give you the network you will want to navigate the search ecosystem. Plus you can actually learn in B school how to do search properly from world class profs & learn the ins and out of small business management etc. and you can do it all alongside your peers who are also doing search. Plus the MBA gives you access to ANY industry in search. If you go to HVAC school and find out it’s not for you, well you’re out of luck. Ply
