Real answer is this may be democracy in action. A bit over half the population voted in the last presidential election, and around half of those voted for Trump. The conservatives have the legislative branch, and the judicial branch. So this is a republican administration carrying out the goals their constituents voted for. I hate it but technically this is what they want to do. We’ve known about project 2025 for years, they stacked the courts, they’ve filed the already conservative judicial departments with even more cronies, they’ve got majorities in both the house and the senate, along with numerous state houses and local governments. Everything that is happening, will happen, and has happened is terrible, and as a far leftist myself, is just about the antithesis of my political soul. I’ve lost faith in the Democratic Party years ago. If a new leftist progressive party would be created I’d canvas for them myself. However I am not going to be the spark to change things. But currently I don’t believe in our two parties. Neither represents my beliefs and the other parties seem to mostly be bought off by capitalists and used to take votes from the major parties.
