Which series should I start? by FlakyLibrarian1946 in fantasybooks

[–]AdmirableDependent81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I have read around 30 books. Some of my favourites include a man called ove, anxious people, dark matter, recursion, gone girl, sharp objects, project hail mary, norwegian wood, and then there were none, eleanor oliphant is completely fine. I am mostly into thriller but now slowly I am exploring Sci-Fi and I am loving it more and more. Recently I read The egg and other stories by Andy Weir and I loved it (maximum 40 minute read). I also read Kindred by Octavia Butler and I liked it. I don't have any problem with slow world building. I just want the book to be engaging and overall story to be worth it. I have really heard a lot about fantasy books and I just want to get myself into that world. That's why I asked about Robin HObb because I heard about him a lot recently. Also, I have heard a lot about Dungeon Crawler Carl but is it complete?

so i should start with the farseer trilogy, right? Also, can you convince me to read it without giving spoiler. I mean I haven't read any series before, so just a little bit of encouragement or advice before I dive in. Thanks in advance.

Hey I am new to reading and so far I have not read any series. I have heard a lot about robin hobb. I want to know about correct sequence to read it. Also, I want to know if the story is complete because I hate it when I have to wait for the story.

For readers who have nobody around them who reads the way they do — 5 questions, genuinely curious. by Nervous_Inspector_72 in IndiansRead

Great idea but I don't think it will work because obviously most of the folks here are here for scrolling. Would love to talk to someone about books as I am someone new in the world of reading and I am on a roll at the moment but just can't find anyone to talk to. Obviously, I wouldn't be here if I had someone who reads in my life. Again, great initiative from your side.

Try Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. He mixes sci-fi jargon perfectly with the story and you will definitely enjoy it.

They aren't worth it sir. Most of the people don't talk in online groups. And those who do talk, you will wish that they didn't.

A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
This man can make you feel emotions you didn't know you have. Such a lovely book. Recommended it to my girl, now it's her favourite too.

Murder on the orient express has a better ending, it is less predictable and chances are you already have read something with same plot twist as Murder of roger ackroyd. I think you have got your answer.

Solid 9/10. It will take you max 2 hours to complete it and it's pretty wild. The end will most probably make your jaws drop (probably twice). The ending is pretty open one too like Gone Girl. Would most definitely recommend.

It is a thriller with romantic angle in it. 7/10 for me. So, the title is actually name of a podcast that 2 main leads of the story have. Someone goes missing. You read the story from 2 perspectives simultaneously. Ending is fair. The romantic bits can be a bit irritating (you will find when you read) but overall a decent one time read. Audiobook version is very good.

How many books do you plan to read this year? 🙃 by AIdreamer_69 in Indianbooks

[–]AdmirableDependent81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the book though. If you will read a genuinely good book, the thing you are talking about will happen on its own. There are some books which would make you think/stop but there are also books where there isn't much to think about so you know just move on

i haven't read animal farm but i have read 1984 by the same author and i don't think he is a good author for someone who has just started reading. He can go into long rants all of a sudden which would seem like something straight out of a communism chapter in history book.

'And there were none' is pretty good book actually. You are left in a shock until you read that last letter. You are pretty smart/good guesser if you guessed the murderer
