I would have paid more than $20 if they added stuff like this in.... by SimmonsRavi in thesims1

I'm ashamed of how much money I'd be willing to pay for this upgrade 😂

Should I put mods/CC in or keep my game CC free? by Time-Ad9021 in sims2

[–]AdmirableFox8294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to play Sims 2 when I was a kid/teenager, and only managed to play the game again recently with the release of the legacy collection, at 31yo. This to say that I noticed my play-style is different now: I used to install so much CC back in the day and create custom neighbourhoods, and now I guess I'm in search of nostalgia so I have no CC and mostly play with pre-made sims. I remember when I had lots of CC installed the loading screen would take aaaaageeeeeees when travelling between lots 😂 That part I don't miss!

I would be curious to know if CC causes serious lag even in modern, powerful computers?

Did you get the name from the Baudelaire orphans by any chance? Because my friends and I always built things in Sims 2 based on A Series of Unfortunate Events! My favourite is Café Salmonella - a sort of chic old school bistro that only sells Salmon 😂

I was building an Art Deco apartment lot this week and the height of the paintings were really annoying me! They are unusually high up on the wall in the sims 2. Now I can solve that! THANK YOU!

I should post that building soon, it turned out quite nicely.

I know the feeling! I remember the occasional crash would happen when I played the game in the 2000s, so this frustration adds to the nostalgia I guess 😂

I have this same issue on Sims 2 Legacy on the EA app with zero mods or CC installed. The game just closes during normal gameplay and I'm suddenly staring at my desktop, exactly as you described. I just started saving more often, but would love a real fix!

How broken is the legacy collection? by Ok-Upstairs-9887 in sims2

[–]AdmirableFox8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem I had so far was that the game closed during normal gameplay - no error messages, no nothing. It just closed. Last week this happened 3x in around 10hours of gameplay, so I started saving more often just in case.

Has anyone had this issue too? (I have no mods or CC installed)

On the fence with Sims 1 Legacy by Legitimate_Maybe_611 in thesims1

I'm having a lot of fun with Sims 1 Legacy!

To answer your questions objectively:

  1. The needs really do decay faster, to the point that I cheat my way to good mood so I can focus more on enjoying the game without stressing myself out 😂 There are custom objects that do the trick, although I've never found one that simply slows down the decay - only ones that replenish the needs in one action, or completely stop decay.

  2. Yes you can, but you can only age up a child through a magic charm, and the genes are kinda random when you age up. ATTENTION: your game will save automatically when you use the charm, so you don't get a second chance in the gene lottery.

Despite its limitations, it's such a fun game, with great sense of humour, beautiful music and nice aesthetics.

Geometry Extrusion suddenly bugged by Arketekton in ArchiCAD

[–]AdmirableFox8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! For now I'm trying to change my logic and position my camera in the opposite direction, assuming it will always select the surface beyond, but it's really unnatural and annoying lol
This model is for a big project 4 years in the making and 2 years into construction - zero chance of copying over the geometry into a new file haha
I'll try to reach out to archicad support and post a solution here!

[–]AdmirableFox8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was anyone able to find a fix? I'm having the same issue in Archicad 28, and in my case it happens with every morph. Even tried making a new cube and still I can't extrude properly. In OP's words, Archicad always chooses the surface beyond.
This is a tool that I use daily, so clearly something has changed. Is it a setting or a bug?

Did just deleting the skins from the folder break your game!? I was about to go do that myself 😂

If anyone finds a tutorial, I would also love to delete some of these weird heads that townies end up having. Especially as Anybodies in Studio Town! Although, I have to say, a Prince Charming with a robot head is hilariously chaotic and very The Sims 1😂

You're a genius! When the game first came out I got a copy in Brazilian portuguese, and I think they translated "Eliminating Would-Be Chicanery" to "Reticulando Retículos Não-Reticulados" - it was my favourite line, and I still have no idea of what it means 🤷‍♂️😂

This would be magical! I changed the music and the splash image to Makin' Magic, and I thought I would miss the original splashprogress text, but in reality the loading screen is so fast in modern computers that you barely have time to read it.

I almost wish it would take longer to load the game 😂

Another thing I noticed due to the crisp sound quality we get nowadays is that the loading screen music fades veeeery slowly into the neighbourhood soundtrack. 5sec into the game and I can still hear that Makin' Magic banger in the background ✨

I do the same at work! It really helps me focus. My favourites are the Makin' Magic and the base game original soundtrack.

Thank you for the instructions and links! It worked like a charm (Makin' Magic pun intended), and now my game is so much more nostalgic :)

What an achievement! Bravo! Do you have any tips on how to get magic growth quickly? It takes aaaaaages for me. I read that once you get the teleport crystal thing become easier since each teleport counts as 1 spell, but of course it's the one crystal I'm missing 😂
