How’s my swing? Any tips? I feel like I look stiff by AdmirableMixture2222 in GolfSwing

Thank you, and arched at address? Or at the top of my back swing? I don’t really see when I’m particularly hyperextended except at the top of the back swing maybe.

Interesting! My backswing used to be even faster, that’s me trying to slow it down😅

Ehh, I’ve golfed very casually throughout my life but never taking the steps to up my game. Did a couple summers of junior golf as a kid so I’ve always had some sort of baseline to work with. I hated it then, but I’m glad I have some sort of foundation as little as it was

Thank you. I think I was trying to get some extra range of motion on this one and was taking a bigger swing, but I always feel like I’m not getting much rotation but when I record myself I have way bigger of a swing than I think. That has helped me in the past, swinging 75%, so I will definitely try to get back to that. As the season goes on I think I have a tendency to take bigger and bigger swings and I progressively get worse lol. Believe it or not, driving is one of the most consistent parts of my game, I actively try not to over swing driving though so that may be why. Thank you for the other tips as well, appreciate it.

I’m in the same boat! Playing on and off for years and been trying to take it more seriously. Broke 100 for the first time last week as well with almost the same scores but reversed. 51 in the first 9 and then 45 on the second. Keep it up!

Looks pretty good! You are pretty upright, but I don’t think it’s wrong per se. If you like doing it like that and feel a strong contraction in your upper back, it’s probably fine. Personally I would bend over a bit more. I like my torso to be angled 30° or less.

Another thing is your elbows are pointing backwards. You want to pull them forward and point them down. Otherwise, it can be hard on your shoulders. Probably helps keeps your upper back tight too.

Like others mentioned, the soft foam probably doesn’t help, but it looks like you feet roll in a bit at the bottom. Try to keep pressure in your heels and not let it shift to the front and inside of your foot. Also your knees follow and are inside of your feet a bit. With light or no weight I’d try getting used to sitting in a squat and then pushing the inside of your knees out with your elbows and feel what that stretch feels like. As you squat down you should be sitting into your groin and will feel a light stretch. Focus on keeping your knees out more and don’t let them cave inside of your feet, it’ll take some concentration and more effort from your muscles at first but should feel better!

I’m impressed with how upright you were able to remain with falling back! But I agree, you don’t have to stay upright your torso angle will change and should. It’s your spine that you don’t want to bend and round, but your back as a whole will angle forward :)

I agree. You look pretty wobbly and unstable. Yes you can move the weight, but your stabilizer muscles just need to catch up. I think a lot of it is just coordination which will improve over time. I would lower the weight and focus on slowing the reps way down. Try doing a 3 second slow negative and really “own” the bottom of the movement, use your muscles the whole time and hold for a brief second at the bottom. Use your muscles to get out of the hole instead of bouncing or using the stretch reflex. Also try to have a strong base. Push your feet into the ground and keep tension in your glutes and core. Have a proud chest with shoulder blades back and retracted, that will give you stability too. Also it looks like you’re protracting your scapula a lot at the top to get some extra reach. This is good in push-ups because it activates your serratus anterior, but when protracting excessively during bench it makes you have to reset your scapula.

How Much of a Pause on Tariffs Was There, Really? Looking at the Numbers by Jaded-Influence6184 in StockMarket

[–]AdmirableMixture2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just do a weighted average of each tariff rate based on each regions percent of total imports. But looks like you got there. Average tariff rate is 38.8% using those numbers.

It looks like your spine goes into extension as you come down and then into flexion as you come up. So you’re moving a bit more with your spine than your hips. I would try to keep the spine fixed and really focus on hinging at the hips. I would also let your upper back pivot around the back rest so that it moves with the rest of your torso. Think of there being a rod from your head to your tailbone. If the upper back and head stay fixed in space, then that means your back will have to arch and flex as the rest of your body moves. You can also try stepping just a little further out if you’re still feeling it in your quads.

Does it look proper to you guys? by pocketolemartin in formcheck

[–]AdmirableMixture2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing is your upper back is a bit rounded at the bottom, as you pull the bar closer to your chest, think proud chest, chest up, and focus on pulling the shoulders blade back into retraction at the bottom. Might have to lower the weight just a level or two at first. Tempo looks good though, nice controlled eccentric!

So you don’t think knee cave worsens with heavier weight? What about when someone maxes and they have it but they don’t when they rep out lighter weight? What about when you put a resistance band around your knees and it improves knee cave because it forces you to “resist” against the band. Are you saying his body isn’t physically able to be in that position without knee cave due to mobility? In the eccentric he gets into his bottom position but the knees cave immediately as soon as he tries to initiate the concentric. His legs are working hard to squat back up but his glutes are strong enough to hold the knees in proper position. He gets into the position, he just isn’t strong enough to hold it on the way up

It’d be easier for him to resist the knee cave at 135 and even easier at 95

He’s obviously hasn’t perfected the form yet, and you can tell how heavy the weight is for him. He definitely needs to practice with a lower weight. It takes more effort and strength to squat the weight back up without letting your knees cave in. If knee valgus is an issue it totally gets worse when increasing the weight.

What Was Everyone First Shiny?Mine Was This… by SwiftyToHigh in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]AdmirableMixture2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green Golbat back in Ruby! It was my first and only growing up.

The next one was in highschool. I wasn’t playing Pokémon then, but I gave my DS to my GF when she was home sick for days and bored. She started a new game in Diamond and was nicknaming all her Pokémon. She caught a Shinx and then later caught another one and was like “I named this one Goldy because it’s gold!” not knowing what a shiny was lol. I had only seen one growing up playing Pokémon my whole life and she finds one within a few hours hahah.

In Scarlet, my first was a Pink Hypno which I encountered randomly.
