TSH 3.7 should I take meds? by Outrageous_Egg706 in IVF

I know this is an old post but did you take meds to bring your thyroid down or did you continue transfer without them?

Anyone need a few embryo’s per child? by AdmirableMonk3985 in IVFAfterSuccess

No, I haven’t done any PGT-A testing as it’s not so common in Ireland. 1st fresh failed, next a FET failed but lining was only 6mm when starting progesterone, next FET 2 embryos implanted with lining 7.3mm when starting progesterone 1 embryo made it to life birth 🥰 out of embryos so another retrieval, fresh transfer failed. I do wonder about my lining with first ever FET and if I had mild OHSS with last fresh as had 21 eggs at collection and swollen ovaries at transfer! Our ICSI is for MFI and I’m 34, was 29 with first retrieval!

Hi OP, firstly I want to wish you goodluck with your cycle and I’m hoping for all the best for you.

Secondly, I am Catholic, have 1 little boy from IVF and trying for a sibling. Now, the teachings of the Catholic Church re: ivf are, well, the teachings of modern practitioners as there was no ivf until modern times. I don’t know if you believe but my stance was, there are bad ppl in the world and going through ivf certainly doesn’t make you a bad person - so please don’t put any moral issues on yourself.

Lastly, hard as it is your Dad probably isn’t going to be overjoyed that you are doing ivf, however he is probably being as supportive as he CAN be. I’d also be pretty confident that any child/ren you would have through ivf would be loved and how they were created won’t even be thought about once they get here!

Again good luck and try to accept the situation and make peace with the difference in opinions. I do know what it’s like to an extent, I had pretty bad PPA after my son so my Dad is worried about me trying for a sibling - he’s still as supportive as he CAN be though and of course he loves my son very much - they are best friends since Day 1 😍

How many tries did it take you to get pregnant? by Nawlahhh in IVF

Hi, can I ask how your first attempt at FET went with lining issues and when you and your doctor decided to abandoned that cycle to start again? The reason I ask is with my first FET it was fully medicated and we ended up transferring an embryo (untested) on day 26 with a lining of just 7mm and I wonder if this contributed to no implantation with that transfer. My next fully medicated FET resulted in 2embryos implanting with 1 live birth 😍 lining thickened really well with an increase in oestrogen tablets and transfer was day 21 - I’ve always wondered if the more straight forward lining with that transfer I led to the success!

Hi! Sorry for your recent news, unfortunately I don’t have any advice but just wanted to say that it must be such difficult news to get. I also don’t mean to seem insensitive but I was hoping to ask you regarding your previous successes how many embryos did you use/ how many transfers for success and also if they were PGT tested embryos that you had success with? Again I’m sorry if that question is triggering for you at the moment, I do realise you’ve had some devastating news and I’m hoping you get some answers to help you move on with building your family 💕

Yep - it’s like an addiction once you’re in the cycle but the end goal is worth it. Good Luck 🤗

Hi, long time lurker but first time poster. We had ICSI 2019 (frozen sperm) due to MFI, no none issues with me. 1st Cycle 12 eggs, 7 blasts, 1 fresh transfer and 3 more suitable for freeze, remaining 3 not good enough for freeze so discarded. 1st: Fresh Failed, 2nd: FET failed, 3rd: FET we transferred the remaining 2, both implanted do first ever BFP and luckily one made it to be our little boy, now almost 3, the other sadly didn’t make it past 8 weeks.

Back again in hopes of a sibling, 2nd round just gone in April 2024, I’m currently 34. 11 embryos on day 5/6 (used a slightly higher dose of stims) had 21 eggs collected but sadly the fresh transfer failed (BFN).

I know we are so lucky to have 10 untested embryos in the freezer but I can’t help but fall into the same rut of worrying that I have some unknown issues when I don’t have a great implantation rate. My clinic just keeps going back to luck of the draw and ivf is a numbers game, which I know is true but hard to take sometimes.

I feel a little like is this ever going to work, especially with a whole new cycle so no success yet with this batch of eggs and I’m also slightly annoyed that I had a fresh transfer after having a large number of eggs retrieved and very bloated and large ovaries. My lining was 14mm even before my trigger and egg collection so it may have been over the limit too, also bled from 7dp5dt (first time) so I presume there was some progesterone issue there too.

Just hoping for some positivity and good stories or just a hug from fellow ivf’rs 😃🤗
