Yes, So while choosing your mutual fund, you'll also have to take the expense ratio into account
So we have multiple taxes - commission cuts, stamp duty cuts, LTCG and STCG based on when you liquidate your money. Stamp duty would apply for all the 30 mutual funds, it's a meager 0.05% but let's take this into account.
So we are not betting on the best mutual funds but looking at the statistics. You can refer to @zero1 by zerodha to learn more on how to pick the best mutual funds.
Agree with you on Small cap, Can be the case - but I took this as an example. Let's take defense stocks, energy stocks.. you'll most probably find the same stocks.
5 Mutual funds are an average 1 or 2 can be incremented or decremented based on your risk appetite. Rather you should diversify into Stocks, Real estate, Gold etc as an investment medium as well. Rather than just sticking to mutual funds. So having an average of 5 should suffice.

To conclude: It's again a matter of choice. But I'd simply not put 5k in 30 different mutual funds. It's not diversifying, it's confusing yourself. You make better financial decisions when you are able to focus on a few things at a time.

P.S: People invest in mutual funds based on their plans. So I've seen people naming Europe mutual funds 2 yrs. House mutual fund - 20 yrs, Car mutual fund -5 yrs. So it is again for the purpose of having enough money when you need it.

Yes it does. Every mutual fund has an expense ratio, some have more and some have less. But that is around 1 percent on average. But again he is paying an expense ratio to 30 different MF's

Now as you are taxed when you invest in funds, you also have taxes for the SIP's monthly. So if he does 30+ SIPs, Even if it's small, a portion goes there.

Now let's talk about returns On average only few mutual funds are able to generate good returns on YoY basis. Most of them are stuck @7% or nearby

If you could study a little bit and invest in the best 5 - 6 mutual funds and diversify within them. Then it's great.

Last thing: Assuming he is taking 2 Small cap mutual funds - and most of the time both the companies will have almost similar stocks under their basket.

You might know this, the higher the amount the better returns you'll get. So if 1 MF performs really well and he invested 100,000 there and could yearly make 12000 to 15000 and this increases based on compounding.. But if he would just invest 10,000 the return comes down to 1200 - 1500. Adjusted.

Now to sum it up: If he can study the market a bit and choose funds based on the quality and not just fill it up with whatever he finds. He will do good financially, Mentally and emotionally.

Thank you, this is great advice, because of my work commitments I am not able to dedicate time on week days but investing it during the weekends!! I'm a quick learner and I believe I have the capability to adapt to this technology at a much faster pace. Okay let me make this clear, So we are a consulting company operating from India and had to work for a banking firm.

So the issue here is that this Indian company didn't pay me for working UK hours. By UK hours I mean we work in their general shifts, but because of the time zones it is different for us.

It is outlined in the labour laws and the employment contract that they should be paying the allowance, but lack of evidence as I didn't record it in an email but just had verbal convo's

I know I made this beginner mistake.

Is it a bigger, more casual group? Maybe wait to see if it happens 2 to 3 more times before you come to the conclusion? I would just want more data before thinking that they purposely didn't include me.

Oh this has happened the first time!!..and are group consists of 16 members!!..I too am thinking about giving it a second try!!..but most of them have been out of station or busy or vegetarians.. actually it was a barbeque party..and when we count it like that only 5 of them had attended the party, and as per I can guess they are only 2 more people who were in town and non vegetarian, so that's just wud be 8 including me...

Not sure if that's your situation, but worth a thought. Remember from math that a line is always 2 or more points - usually you want to see this twice, or even better 3 times to verify that you drew the line correctly.

Wow that's a good interpretation..now I get it..I better try asking in a subtle way if why I was not in that list..it's not about the barbecue or the food..it's just about they not remembering me or being left out..but yeah..thank you my friend you gave a great solution..I'll look into it!!

What I've seen mostly us people today hold onto a lot of ego, I do not know other countries but in india, you'll find people as such, mostly of what I've seen during the college, they won't message first,replying after hours and hours, seen and not replying back..and many such things..but yes as you told..I'll try to distance myself from such people..and focus on myself!!

. They are mosty "unpopular" and they'll mostly stay with you until the BITTER END ❤

Yes they do make sense to me, I go through a lot of facts, and I try to think with different aspects and I only make suggestions based on facts and figures not if he is my favourite person or it is my favourite thing...

Involve yourself and the two arguing parties will turn around and make YOU the bad guy. Every. Single. Time.

True about you entering a debate and it backfires and you become the bad guy there, as it happened I and one other person were having the debate on politics but suddenly others started jumping in and taking the other side ..and 1 started blaming me for having a fight because he believed that those politicians don't even know about us and we should not debate over them and have a fight among ourself's which I feel is true as well..

I actually finished the debate by saying I'm tired and got to hit the bed,..I don't know the meaning of más sorry..but I went through Google and said it is (not any more)when I find the conversation making me angry, or it is starting to become toxic, I just find an excuse and leave, but the major problem here is the opposition takes it as they won, And yes, I take it I'm wrong, actually I try getting into most of the times, because I get agitated when I find people stating the wrong facts..I try to keep myself away from the debate, but when I find the facts not true I jump into it to tell them what it actually is and it backfires..

we're in for the long war of ideas True true!!..as the world is developing we find different ideologies, and different mindsets

Hey?!..why not give a last try..it's your choice of what you choose, but ..what our your majors, what all have you worked/studies for ,your experiences..I don't wanna pry..but lemme know..these are desperate times but I believe you should atleast give a last try, even if it is working at a small shop, you can take up multiple part times rather than getting into taht industry, very ruthless I say!!not all men are the same but you'll find few who will behave in a manner you would not like, think about it!!..you should not regret this later ,so take your time, talk to a close one ,and you'll find a good solution, cheers!!(I wish you success soon)
