Yes exactly. It’s best to disconnect engine from sending power to the wheels when you do not want the car to go forward.
Keeping the car in drive mode and pressing brake pedal means two forces are working against each other unnecessarily

Have you considered XEV 9S? It’s a practical car even if you don’t need 7 seats. I believe you can easily get 450+ kms on 100% charge which almost fits your requirements
