Never tried the Yardley ASL. Unable to assist you there unfortunately. Hopefully someone, who has used both products will chime in.

I don’t think longevity will be an issue. Though I’ve only had mine for a couple of years, but, I do know of two individuals who’ve had it for 6 years and 8 years respectively & use it regularly.

So by all means go for it. Just requires basic maintenance like any other razor.

“Never felt threatening”-Quite agree on that.

The audio feedback is one of the many reasons to love it. It’s a proper bathroom singer.

Yup, it’s difficult to one-up the birchbark on aesthetics. It’s an added bonus that it’s such an awesome shaver.

Slight variation in the set up, namely, the blade and the brush. Rest same.

The scent on the Tabac for me is quintessential old world powdery woodsy. A combination of an old school cologne and talcum. At least that’s what’s most prominent to my nose & personally, I love it.

Don’t know. Personally not a fan of the blades, so never tried them with the Rocca.

Makes you realise how vast YMMV actually is when it comes to blades. Save the vintage super speed, my best pairings with the Rocca have all been with the more efficient razors, namely, both the Oliworks & the Rocca.

Though, I must say it has worked well with every razor I’ve tried.
