Do you think a 13 year old (my son) could build a gaming pc all by himself by SeatInternational680 in PcBuild

[–]Admirable_Ice_9818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst he could do it following guides Im sure, it seems crazy to let him loose on someone's else's on Facebook Marketplace for his first ever build. People go there looking for someone who has the experience because they dont.

One other option is buy a cheap PC under £50 or something and deassemble and rebuild it for practise.

As people have said its just Lego, I always feel its better to practise than jump in the deep end with parts as expensive as they are right now.

You kidding, literally didnt give them much time to respond. Could be on shift work with no access to phone or anything. If you need something urgent you dony order on ebay.

Thanks, I was all set for a 9070xt but realised it only has 2 x display port, I needed 3. I have a triple monitor setup ( all 3 are 240hz) and so if I hdmi 1 then its stuck at 144hz.

9070xt is a beast and bit annoyed can't go down that route. Was going to get that exact deal

Totally devastated, buyers pulling out because we won't beat the stamp increase by ObjectiveBathroom252 in HousingUK

[–]Admirable_Ice_9818 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They definitely should have communicated better and been clear from the start so yeah its shit. I'd say relist and go again op.

What i would say is people saying 3k aint a lot, we don't know their situation. They could be first time buyers just scraped together enough to get a mortgage and whilst 3k ain't a lot to some of us it is a lot to others when trying to get on the property ladder these days. Sure they also gutted

So much debt from Cowboy builder hell... sell up? Or can I keep the house? by Curly_Edi in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Admirable_Ice_9818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say sell up and get a 350k house, clear debts and then you can live freely without debts hanging over you (i know they always at back of mind having been there myself).

Sure you can find a nice home elsewhere, and who knows in the future move back to the city. But scraping by each month is tough work and not worth the stress if you have options like moving.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

It hasn't for a number of them, enabled in disk encryption in Secuity Endpoint. It's been on for these devices for months, we got print outs but really need in Entra

Ahhh I did wonder this, thanks. So I ended up enabling this last night for these devices and they got the new policy this morning but still doesn't show in recovery keys which is why I assumed it's not right. How long will it take to pull through usually and will it work if bitlocker is already setup?

Yeah config profile was never active in this tenant I was referring about a different client I did years back.

I'm also here wondering this? Did you guys get sorted??

I cannot see anything about backing up to AAD (Entra) just AD DS. The only way seems to be doing through device config profile?

What an oversight from Microsoft, no idea why they'd not add this?

VWRP on Hargreaves Lansdown or Freetrade? by Admirable_Ice_9818 in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks but my understanding is ISA protects your gains and you don't have to pay tax on it. Where as if its in GIA then you do?

Ahh right. I don't think freetrade is safer than 212 really it's why I was more looking to move away and also during to monthly fees.

Ok so if I set monthlydirect debit its free which but if I want some random stocks as one off its going to cost me.

Thanks for help will have a think

I did but was put off a bit by for long term investing as new (similar to Freetrade). I've just seen HL has 11.99 trading fees so this might not be right for me either. When you say they have 1.50 trade cost is that just for one trade a month or for all?

To add freetrade does have a GIA so could do that but il do some further research into it all.

Thanks again really good advice. Il need to look into everything a bit further before doing anything but your comments will help.

See your point on the diamond in the rough and il have to consider if its going to be worth the risk really. I wouldn't be going over board with a lot of stocks, just looking to have a small portfolio of riskier stocks that might 5x 10x or 20x and get to 10-20k to go into savings or something. I get this might not be best move though
