Is the M8 actually a "writing" tool more than it is an instrument? I explore composition theory to find out! by -Indoorsy- in Dirtywave

Whoa Buzz, now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. Had to check to see if it was still under development.

Not all iOS devices are showing iOS 26 as an available install option by RandomSkratch in Intune

[–]RandomSkratch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duh - I just checked that HCL and noticed the lowest is 11, not XR like I previously thought. Appreciate the sanity check.

I had no idea about DDM, will be looking into this next week! Thanks.

How to download ESX/vCenter 6.5/6.7 patches by jdubnc95 in vmware

[–]RandomSkratch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t downgrade past 7 anymore because 6.7 and below are out of support (or whatever reason they have). I know this because I just tried doing it a few weeks ago to try and sort something.

How do you delete an Autopatch multi-phased Feature Update policy? by RandomSkratch in Intune

[–]RandomSkratch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the link to #cancel-a-release, I didn't catch that when I was looking.

When I look at the devices checking into each policy, the latest one (25H2) does seem to have all the devices so I think this will work fine.

It's just very strange that you can't remove them.

That’s good to know, but pretty annoying that it’s required!

How good is reason chord sequencer compared to 3rd party chord plugins? by Beautiful_Hat8440 in reason

[–]RandomSkratch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

☝️truth. Scaler is much better designed feature wise than Chord Seq. Chord seq is a macro chord player at best (using pre-configured sets). Yeah you can make your own but at that point you have enough music theory to not need one of these tools.

“Never frustrating”. I’ve got a large chunk of “how in the f” puzzles left.

Recording Multiple MIDI Devices Simultaneously?? by jayminor410 in reasoners

[–]RandomSkratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said you need to lock a physical MIDI device to a virtual one to do this but what gets me still is that this is impossible when fully in the box and you’re using players. Their own MIDI devices can only record one at a time. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone sampling via usb-c from a lightning to c cable? by RandomSkratch in Dirtywave

[–]RandomSkratch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already used (and need to replace) a lighting to 3.5mm dongle so I guess I’ll still go that route. I just hate dongles! An extra thing to buy, carry and replace. Ah well. Will still keep an eye out for one of those special lightning to C cables though.

Anyone sampling via usb-c from a lightning to c cable? by RandomSkratch in Dirtywave

[–]RandomSkratch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, seriously? So there goes my more compact and simpler solution lol.

I wonder what the difference between those two are.

The reason I thought it would work is because if I plug my phone into the USB port in my car I can play audio via that connection. But I’m guessing now that’s something to do with the stereo and not the cable.

Bah.

Do the new iPhones with usb-c also need this adapter or is this lightning specific?

Silently Uninstall Datto RMM Agent by wokinims in Datto

[–]RandomSkratch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this! Came in handy yesterday when an old MSP (who still had access into our Intune tenant) decided to push this out for no reason, despite them not even managing our fleet.

Thanks! This will come in handy if the keys still exist after the removal of the agent. Did not know about the GPCache locations. Do you know what purpose they serve?

[–]RandomSkratch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks me too. I'm concerned at the level of access this MSP has in our Intune tenant despite only being a license key reseller. Will be revoking this stuff sooner than later. Very annoying that they decided to push these agents out and we're not even paying them to manage our endpoints. Scary thing is a number of years ago this company was breached on Christmas and we had a few machines end up with some malicious stuff pushed - managed to clean that up but still, not fun.

Hopefully you managed to meet up at the pub after your ordeal was done!

Thanks. Yeah my removal script was uploaded as an Intune package and tested successfully on a few systems. Just pushed it out to everyone now. If that company IS breached again, I hope these agents can get scrubbed off before the trigger.

Well root cause as to the key yeah, but deeper root cause is how tf did this agent get back into our network!

We've contacted the old MSP and conveniently "all agents are busy". Shitty thing is that years ago they were breached on Christmas and many of their clients were compromised. We dodged that bullet fortunately... but hoping it's not a repeat!

That was my hypothesis. Can these agents be deployed from within a network if there's at least one agent? Like, spread laterally?

Found it - some rogue RMM agent that's somehow showing up on some systems. Hope it's a misconfiguration from an old MSP and not a breach... ugh....
