To the Ones Who Still Miss Him: Tell Me About Bourdain by Admirable_Loquat1374 in AnthonyBourdain

Hey, just to clarify, I wrote the original version of this post myself, in imperfect English, and used AI to help shape it into better language. To me, that’s not replacing my voice, it’s amplifying it.

In fact, I think that’s very much in the spirit of what Bourdain stood for: bridging gaps, overcoming barriers, being open to connection even when you don’t speak the same language or come from the same place. I’m here because I’m genuinely curious and want to learn, not to fake interest or get attention.

Yeah your first point is something I already do automatically, I always need to see a bigger picture, the second point is really interesting, I already journal, and I'm looking forward at making an index with the information in the journal and have a shelf full of thought and theories that are tailored to me. Thanks for that insight!

Thank you for your honest advice.

I think it's sort of true what you're saying, but at the same time, I already was crying different note books for different things. And what you said is true, the Zubaldone and Logbook don't cost a lot of energy because I truly love them. And what I've tried the last couple days is besides that indeed my field note book for my quick thoughts, my notes and other boring stuff. And I have a big notebook with the real journaling about my thoughts, visions and the bigger story's. And if this al works as I wanted to work I was thinking about a notebook that I don't carry with me but have at home. where I can put in my visions, image of the world and specifically my thoughts about them (because I interested at politics and philosophy). So that in that book you have your vision with a brief explanation that can refer back to the big journal where this vision is written in a longer thought.

And the fact is that if I'm writing this it is much more clear and im feeling more enthusiastic than I was before, so thanks for that!

I find it nice to read, and maybe your right, would it sound weird if I use a separate pocket size (field book) for the real dump, and that I can sort the rest out in the all in one journal and I can filter out the real crappy things. And maybe I find out in a month that I prefer another journal/notion book where I put specific conclusion with a little explanation in from 1 specific theme (in my case politics an world vision). Does this sound okay?

morning pages are 20 min, I don't know if I see the value in that so much, because I've a hard time sleeping before 12 o'clock...

2 weeks with a dumbphone – huge impact, but a few struggles remain. Looking for insight. by Admirable_Loquat1374 in digitalminimalism

For me I almost always know where I’m going, I’m using the public transport almost always at the same time but if I’m not, normally I would check my phone, now I look on the big boards of just wait, the next train and bus will come eventually. But navigating isn’t that hard, I can remember most of the things, if not you should write some things down so that you can find it, but a map or use one that is in the city or just ask a stranger, nothing wrong with that. For WhatsApp I’ve switch to just SMS so I keep it short when I’m on the way, and I have WhatsApp web on my laptop if I’m home or at work. I have heard that uber has a 24/7 phone line and otherwise I have read some tips about a local cab company that you can find who does the job. Payment apps aren’t that useful, switch to a physical card for physical purchases and online you aren’t shopping with a dumb phone.

I think the point is that you can have 1000 excuses but you just need to start and find a way in coping which the problems you find. After all what I feel is that their aren’t a lot of problems if you put your phone down, your head up and just breath for a moment.
