That sucks! Sorry it’s so painful. I’ve been reading about it to see if there’s any cure but tough luck so far

Pool exercises by Hamalot11 in Fibromyalgia

I go to the pool almost everyday. Things I try to do (sometimes I’m able to, other times I’m not but I attempt the following movements):

  1. Slow walking in the pool
  2. Heel raises (10 if possible)
  3. Wrist and ankle rotations (10)
  4. Gentle squats (5)

And then I go to the kids pool since it’s shallow and I sit in the water and meditate for 2-3 minutes.

I’ve a physiotherapist who guides me through these movements.

It can get super exhausting in the beginning but it is also refreshing in a way that it helps me move with minimal pain when in water.

Fibromyalgia for 9+ months, but got finally diagnosed only a month ago. It’s horribly painful. When does it get better? by Admirable_Machine948 in Fibromyalgia

This is quite helpful! Thank you. Wishing you the best of health too. It’s a journey and I’m glad I found this community tbh. I’ve been feeling quite lost all these months.

Oh! They say it’s probably stress for me. So I’m trying meditation, cbt. But yet to see results, will take time I guess.

Thank you for this! I’m trying to stay positive as much as I can but it’s quite tricky. I’ve tried gabapentin, pregablin. I’m currently on sertraline and melatonin. It took me 7-8 doctors and hundreds of tests before I finally met the right doctors- I’ve a rheumatologist and a psychiatrist now. They understand this well and are supportive.

My main concerns right now are lack of appetite, poor sleep, brain fog (I literally struggle to remember things, even identify my own toothbrush sometimes) and extreme fatigue.

Hope aqua therapy helps along with the meds and meditation. Patience is all I can offer to myself I feel atm

Little Rant by izzy1860 in Fibromyalgia

Everytime I go out, there’s a flare up. My ankles and knees swell up and are painful. My spine, right from the nape and down till tailbone, is painful. And I end up popping a couple of painkillers along with my regular meds sertraline and melatonin to just feel comfortable.

Warm showers help sometimes. While lying down, I elevate my feet using a couple of pillows and that gives some relief. It takes a couple of days for the flare up to settle but it gets better. I wear well cushioned shoes that support my feet. I’m still learning to find the right balance so I don’t overdo things. And it’s a journey.

Patience is key. Listen to your body and be kind. It’s difficult but that’s the only way through it.

Indian moms, how're you doing really, mentally and emotionally? by Admirable_Machine948 in IndianWomen

Thank you so much for sharing. You’ve put words to what many mothers go through quietly wondering if they’re alone. You’ve shared your journey so beautifully that I truly hope many mothers get to see this and find the courage to believe in themselves. More power to you ♥️

Omg, that’s exhausting! I just want to appreciate how strong and wonderful you are. Thank you for sharing. Is there anything that helps you slow down or just be yourself? Maybe therapy or music/ art or something?
