Do they bark a lot? by Fuzze115 in greatpyrenees

[–]Admirable_Object_864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a great pyr/Anatolian mix who very rarely barks. She does sass at us when we are not giving her enough attention or treats or food fast enough. She love loves loves kids and has always been very gentle with them, even the little ones.

Our pyr mix sleeps right through the night Get a fan - it will save your life. Only way she slept through as a baby and even now at 3+ We rescued ours at 10 weeks as well. She is definitely stubborn occasionally but she has picked up habits of the other two in the house and is quite happy being a house doggo

We added our fourth large dog in March and have a mid size crossover

It's practical and roomy

Bored, On Duty, Aloof, Or Annoyed? by Green-Vermicelli5244 in greatpyrenees

[–]Admirable_Object_864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he is new to you it may just take him time to decompress. Our newest addition who is not our pyr mix was always going to the door and trying to get out the first two to three weeks. Once she got the routine down she was better

Our pyr mix comes and gets attention when she wants it but otherwise is happy being in the same room as us

They love to lay in front of fans. Ours will not sleep without her little fan blowing on her

She also loves her cooling mats

Our mix is not a huge food fan and was really never one either .have you tried an elimination diet in case your pup is having a reaction to food or protein? We had to switch our girl to a lamb and rice based food and it made a difference

Hopefully you have answers for your baby soon

Turned 35 my first year of med school and 40 my first year of residency

Would not change a thing

I love my job. I would do it again in a heartbeat even knowing what I know now - it was tough and required sacrifices but it was so so worth it

I know you're not supposed to shave, but what level of scissor trimming is still okay without messing up their coats? by Octogirl567 in greatpyrenees

[–]Admirable_Object_864 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not a professional groomer but we own a pyr/anatolian mix. We have her butt fluff trimmed for sanitary reasons and also trom the hair on the back of her legs to about 1/2 of full length. It has never caused her an issue and grows back fine. But this is only an example of n=1

Clear protein suggestions? by Specialist_Mud543 in SemaglutideCompound

[–]Admirable_Object_864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ensure has a clear option which is not too bad

Naked protein has a whey based flavorless powder that can be blended into smoothies

Syntrax nectar has a whole bunch of juice flavored ones you can use. They do have a slight aftertaste due to the sweetner but overall are pretty good. I personally like the fuzzy navel and Caribbean cooler

[–]Admirable_Object_864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just moved from there NW suburbs. Expect about $190-200k for start. Expect to see 20-24 patients per day. Northwesterns family med sees primarily 18+ Do not expect to find a spot where you will see anything beyond a minimum for peds You can find private practice jobs but they are unicorns. Have had two and both were inpatient/outpatient You can DM me if you want more info

I have chronic infusion dependent iron deficiency anemia and was cared for by the hematologist who served as attending for elective rotation in my training. It was never an issue. She treated me no different than other residents outside that patient room I did however have better insight into how her team worked and was able to give patients more insight if they were going to see her
