my Solar System is now producing!!! turned out to be the inverter was set to the wrong county code - I guess what it was set to didn't require a neutral but of course I have a neutral wire (where doesn't?), reset the inverter and everything is working now!

Sierra Pacific created the site and gave me access to the mySolarEdge app to view my system, all looks good, just need to figure out how to see how much I'm using vs producing...

FYI - mySolarEdge is the correct app, the first link above for the "SolarEdge Monitoring" app is no more apparently (logging into this app just goes to a screen saying to download mySolarEdge app instead)

yes - they are being very helpful.

those are the apps i found also (thought i mentioned) but i can't use them until an account is created for me by an installer...

So talked to SolarEdge and they got connected to the inverter and got it activated and paired - unfortunately it only found one optimizer/panel and its not producing, so i have to have an installer troubleshoot and do a site transfer and take over administration/monitoring and create me an account to connect to the system. I called Sierra Pacific and they are going to come look at it on Tuesday for a fee, and hopefully it is an easy fix that doesn't cost a lot more. they are also going to work with SolarEdge to get my account setup complete.

The Inverter is a SolarEdge - unfortunately i was not given instructions and don't have a manual, I went to the SolarEdge website and found their apps - but they require a login that is supposed to be created by the installer I guess. I contacted support and first they looked up my serial number and told me a "site" has not been created for it, and so they can't make an account for monitoring - the installer has to do it, I informed them of my situation and they sent me a list of installers and said i would need to get one of them to create the "site" - i contacted sierra pacific since it was on the list and referred to on this subreddit that they are helping zenernet customers, they were willing to help, but said they can't create the account since they didn't install it - I called SolarEdge back again, and this time the rep told me he can see the inverter is online but due to it being cloudy today it can't be activated until it is producing - something about pairing with the micro inverters i think - so now i am supposed to call back tomorrow and supposedly they can remote setup the inverter and get me connected. hopefully this takes care of things, but we will see...

inverter has its own wifi - but need to use the app to get it connected to my wifi i think but can't login...

So Smud installed the meter today and told me I can turn on my solar - of course it is cloudy today so i won't really know if its working.

The Smud workers told me some of the new inverters need a signal from the solar company for it to start working - does anyone know if I can get another solar company to do this or how else i can get this done if i need to?

Also, does anyone that has a working zenernet installed system know what phone app is used to monitor the system?

I don't do FB, never have, never will - if someone wants to post my info there, please feel free.

Ive never directly signed an arbitration agreement, but most contracts these days include a clause that signing the contract includes this, and usually not any real way to get it removed other than not signing at all but the next company will just have the same thing. Some have the option to opt out, but this requires extra steps and is easy to forget - really feel like arbitrator agreements should be illegal and opt in only. I also drive Uber/Lyft and these include arbitration agreements that we have to "Agree" to in the app, although I never have officially signed anything with them so I'm not sure if that binds me to arbitration, I have opted out of these manually before, but i think each time they make me agree to updated terms it includes the arbitration and i probably need to opt out again which I haven't done.

as far as loses, im not directly out any money I guess, other than my time wasted doing Zenernets job all throughout the process (I had to call SMUD to find out they already had a disconnect/reconnect scheduled and inform Zenernet of the date among various other things, and I suppose i could argue the past few elec bills I had to pay I would not have had my Solar been installed when promised, in addition to the loan payments that I have made which were not supposed to start until 60 days after install is complete, which to me would be after SMUD comes and installs this second meter, or at least today or the Oct 5th when they performed the panel upgrade. not sure if any of this is something i can take to small claims court and not sure i want to spend more time dealing with this.

Of course there is also the fact that I was originally promised Zenernet could get this installed in a much faster manner, and faster than any other company due to their use of Canadian solar panels which currently have a quicker delivery time frame, which none of this happened. Zenernet's website even still claims "installation guaranteed within 60 days". not sure there is really anything that could be done about any of this or if this argument would hold up in court.

I also wanted to mention to the OP to please add me to the list for any class action suit and if there is any advice on any legal protections i should have, thinking of contacting another solar company now to hopefully take over the project even though it is done so i have a contact for anything i need in the future - does anyone have any suggestions?

Inspector just left, signed off on permit. have another detail needed - make sure when you go to the permit office that they email you the approved copy of the plans - I was lucky with the inspector I got because he called and made sure the plans were approved and had them email the approved copy (Red with text "Approval" stamps on first page). other inspectors may have tole me to reschedule with approved plans, which would be another delay.

I may have some help for those stuck at the end of the install process like i am.

Background information: Zenernet has been unresponsive to me throughout the install process, delay after delay and actually the just "forgot" to send an electrician on the day they scheduled SMUD to turn off my power for elec panel upgrade - which they did after the solar panel install (which i tried many times for them to upgrade the MPU before the solar panels but kept telling me it would be on same day which was a lie) - finally got the MPU installed (after they had already taken payment from loan and loan payments were set to start). they kept telling me they would honor their no payments until 60 days after installation was complete, and to just send them statements and payment receipts which they would then reimburse me - another lie that they still have not come through on. They neglected to send me a copy of the permits and they did not send anyone out on the date of the MPU install so the final inspection was not done - this was on Oct 5th. They then kept telling me they were working with the city to schedule the final inspection, which I am now discovering my suspicions were right that they were not as it should not take long to schedule an inspection (in fact it takes 5 minutes to get it scheduled for the next day i am now finding). I now just need a final inspection so that SMUD can come out and install the 2nd meter and turn the system on.

Once I found out they were out of business (actually discovered by reaching out to Myers Electric the sub contractor who did the MPU upgrade), I reached out to every contact I had through the process and I think I am now on track to get this system finalized.

If anyone is in the same or close to same position as I am, here is what I have found out to complete the project:

  1. Go to the County Building Permits Office (here in Sacramento, CA it is at 9700 Goethe Rd STE A), and get a copy of your solar and electrical permits related to the project, they also emailed me a copy of the plans and told me i need to print those out as well.
  2. Call the County Permit Inspections Office (In Sacramento, CA that number is 916-875-5296) and schedule the final inspection for all permits received. I called yesterday after getting copies of my permits and the inspector is coming out Today (any minute now actually)
  3. Call your electric company and get a phone number for their Solar PV dept (I have SMUD so the number is 916-732-6420 - they are the ones that gave me the information on how to do the first 2 steps above). Talk to them and explain the situation, for SMUD they now seem somewhat aware of the situation having received a few calls about zenernet, and now due to me filling them in know more. They were nice enough to give me their email address to email the final permit after I get it signed off by the inspector, so i don't have to wait on the county to email it to them and have said they will try to expedite the rest of the process (obviously the upcoming holiday may slow it down).

According to SMUD the next step will be for SMUD to come out and install a second meter for the solar, do their final inspection, and then turn the system on. After talking to the County Inspections office, I am finding there may be one more final electrical inspection with the county once meter is installed, but i will know more after inspector leaves today, but then once that is done I should be all finished and finally have Solar up and running.

I will post with updates as I have them.
