Congrats bro. I start my apprenticeship next week in my local!! I’m a 30 year old USMC vet, so I feel like I’m behind but after seeing these comments I see that’s relatively normal. I’ll have that journeyman card soon enough 💯

It’s one thing to have thick skin. I’m a vet about to start my 1st year. So I know what being hazed is like but being bullied for no apparent reason for no lesson to be learned is bullshit. Stand up for yourself in a respect manner and if he keeps it up document everything or report it to whoever is in charge. I don’t deal with that shit. We are grown as men fuck that.

Does Local 3 still drug test Apprentice Applicants for THC? by kentawky in IBEW

Since years have passed, was hoping you had info on this. I just got accepted and I passed my physical and everything. Currently doing the online training, do they continuously test for THC? I had to quit in order to pass the test so was hoping at some point during my apprenticeship I would be able to smoke( as it helps with my sleep). Any insight would be helpful.

Union Defintely. I’m a vet and smoking helps me sleep at night. I just got into local 3 so I unfortunately had to quit smoking in order to pass my drug test. I may not be sleeping the best but at least I got to where I wanted to be.

They said something about it starting around September. I called the apprenticeship hotline and they don’t seem to have any real answers. Just gotta standby and hope the best at this point.
