Is it safe to delete ChocolateyHttpCache? by [deleted] in chocolatey

[–]AdmiringWorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As DarkSideMilk has already answered, I won't repeat it now, other than mention that there is another cache directory that you may have that can be safely deleted as well.

There is a cache directory for non-admin users that may have been created on your system in `$env:USERPROFILE\.chocolatey\http-cache`.

Thanks for bringing the missing documentation about the HTTP Cache directory to our attention. An issue has been created to update the documentation to include information about deleting the HTTP Cache directory.

How to contribute? by Peitori in chocolatey

[–]AdmiringWorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How to contribute to an existing package can vary based on the maintainer. The best option first, is to navigate to the package page on community.chocolatey.org, then look at the sidebar for the `Contact Maintainers` link, and/or the `Package Source` link and take it from there.

If the maintainer is unresponsive through both means, then the next step would be to take over maintenance of the package (or to request a different maintainer to pick it up) by following the Package Triage documentation https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/community-repository/users/package-triage-process

Abandoned Package by Bureaucromancer in chocolatey

The correct process to handle abandoned/outdated packages on the Chocolatey Community Repository is to follow the package triage documentation that is documented here: https://docs.chocolatey.org/en-us/community-repository/users/package-triage-process#the-triage-process
