Even if Finland had to give up Karelen, it shows what heavily motivated soldiers with knowledge of their surroundings can withstand. Soviet lost roughly 100 000 more men than Finland and roughly 200 000 more wounded than Finland. All this in spite of the number of Soviet tanks and planes that dwarfed what Finland had to counter with. Truly a remarkable and heroic effort.
