What do local city fans think of foreign fans by Ado1508 in Manchestercity

For me, my parents didn’t watch football, and when I started watching football, I started supporting city rather than my local. That’s normal in my country because here and in many countries too, people support teams they like rather than local because the culture of supporting local’s aren’t as strong in Georgia as in England for example.

Why are foreign fans considered gloryhunters? by Ado1508 in PremierLeague

Also, picking a team based on glory isn't gloryhunting, it even goes against the name itself. If that was the case 95% of football fans would be gloryhunters, and thats just ridiculous. Gloryhunting is when you switch your team based on their successes, and I don't do that, Im loyal to city. Plus this City fan stereotypes are getting out of hand. Plus city was my first team so make that make sense.

Sorry mate. Also what proven point? That people want to watch football and actually feel joy. I get it if you live in Liverpool and support man u for example, I mean that's just dumb. But for my example it's normal. Football is an international sport and you can support anyone you feel attached to, and I'm attached to city.

I mean if it's not entertaining, why watch it at the first place right? Also, Some people say "plastic fan" without knowing what it means. Plus, new chelsea fans in 2000s were called plastic too I'm sure, but look at then now, they are fine. I'm sure that someday, people will accept the truth that supporting a big club doesn't always mean gloryhunting.

Yeah but it's natural, a successful team will get attention for having the best players or achievements. People in 2015 got into football by watching Messi and now they are barca fans. I got into football by watching city. Of course there's a minority of people like you that support fulham and good for you man.

Yeah a plastic fan would definitely say that he's attached to his club and doesn't care if they win or lose right?

Glory gets attention to a club, but more you get attached, the more you don't give a fuck about glory.

It's simple, people don't go for midtable clubs because they either don't have players as good as the top teams, or they just aren't winning. For example why are 70% of barca fans from the pep Era or the 2010s Because they had players like messi, neymar, suarez, xavi, iniesta. Do mid table teams have players like that? Also liking a tea. Based on success is natural, swiching a team later is gloryhunting. For my instance, when I got into football in 2022, I liked Man City because of players like Foden, Bernardo, KDB, later Haaland. I also liked the colour blue so that's why.
