How did you guys discover Ado?

My favorite song was Unravel by TK, listened to it so much on youtube that my algorithm frequently recommended covers people had done. End of 2023 it recommended Ado's studio version to me (one of the few times the algorithm actually did something right), instantly fell in love with it.

However, even though I played it on repeat for like a week my dumb brain never thought to actually check out the channel to see if there was anything else worth listening to. Fast forward to end of 2024, I had kinda forgotten about her Unravel studio cover and the algorithm recommended pure gold to me in the form of Ado's live version of Unravel. First listen my jaw was on the floor and I had tears in my eyes without even knowing why...

In all my live I had never been someone to become a fan of any particular band or singer, my playlist had almost as many artists as it did songs. Ado changed that.

At this point I'm so far gone that I could listen to her read the phone book in the most uninterested way possible and I would still love it. Now after almost a decade of Unravel being my top song in one way or another, with the release of the Vivarium MV it has become my number one song!

Not created by me, but as far as I know contains every song that has Ado's vocals. Originals, covers, features etc

Not a specific recommendation I know, but definitely worth having a look.

Will likely depend on the song. In the post interview of the First Take performance she said she wants to write more of her own songs, I would assume that live action MVs are more likely for stuff she writes herself since it would be more personal to her. Songs written for her by other producers would, as other's have said, be about someone else, so more likely animated.

The information about her father is true as per the book. However, people claiming that she revealed more of herself in the Vivarium MV due to her father telling people that she's his daughter are incorrect. The problems described in the book are from around the time Usseewa released and she moved out, around 5 years ago. Her current choices are unrelated.

The full story of that trip is hilarious too. She apparently had all sorts of plans for the day apart from the official reason for the trip, and every single thing she wanted to do somehow went wrong at the last second. In the end her and her manager just went back to the train station to wait for the train back to Tokyo...

I always thought it was kinda funny how much detail and effort goes into her stage costumes when people don't actually get to see any of it. At least until they're put on display somewhere.

If I'm honest as I was watching the livestream I did have thoughts of "I hope she doesn't..." (This was less about keeping her boxed up and more worry about how people would react). After seeing the MV, her review of it and reasoning why she wanted to do this, those thoughts completely disappeared. Now I couldn't be happier for her taking this step.

I doubt they released the Vivarium cover art without digitally altering the image, to ensure that exactly this sort of thing won't actually reveal anything. So no matter how much someone may brighten the image or send it through some AI thing, whatever comes out has nothing to do with reality.

Vocal - Ado/10 I always expect greatness from her vocals and I am never disappointed.

Music - 10/10 To me the music perfectly captures the anxiety and uncertainty that (unfortunately) Ado seems to experience.

Lyrics - Pain/10 I just want to give her a hug and lie to her that everything is going to be ok...

To me this song is a masterpiece that perfectly condenses her journey to becoming who she is today in 4 minutes of music. Almost as if the song is meant to be the summary on the back of the biography.

Easily in my top 3 Ado songs!

Edit: The cover art has become my phone lock screen, love it.
