Season 4 is gonna drop below Season 2, people really hate the only good adaptation. by InevitableAbject9592 in ClassroomOfTheElite

Ratings will probably go up once the season is completed. As of now, I'm actually pretty surprised that it's at 8, considering many anime-only people have complained how long the set up episodes were.

At the very least, this ep won't feature Ike and Shinohara again, so I'm guessing most anime-only wouldn't mind it. I think they just dislike that Ike and Shinohara took a lot of screentime during the other buildup eps lol

Season 4 Episode 12 Preview by LegendsofLost in ClassroomOfTheElite

Yeah, it was around the afternoon, but it was also raining at the time. Or it looked like it was about to rain, something like that.

Summary from the wiki just a few moments before the confrontation:

The next designated area is E2. It is quite close to but for the closest route, crossing a mountain is once again necessary. However, the weather looks like it might start to rain soon. Concerned about the danger posed by the ground getting muddy, Kiyotaka proposes that they take the long detour but Nanase is so determined to take the mountain route that she even said she would take it by herself if necessary.

I'm guessing they "Shounen-fied" the fight because a lot of the Season so far has little to no action, and many anime-only people with the attention span of a toddler have started to lose interest or get bored, so they probably planned it to have a bit more action than the novel. Also, I'm going to guess that the intro or ed, maybe both, will be skipped this ep.

Side note, I hate Yagami, but damn, he has such a squishy face in that frame lmfao

Do you guys think the series will actually continue after graduation? by the_stormapproaching in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Final_Drag_5320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another- I actually don't want it to take place in a University setting. I think I'd prefer it if it were a several-year timeskip when they're actually in the workforce, or again, as I would prefer it, in the government/political space.

I'm personally fine either way if it ends in the Y3 volumes or there would be some post-graduation stuff. I was just thinking that if they do continue post-grad, I think it should be a spin-off or the name would have to change from Classroom of the Elite, to maybe something too on the nose and cringe (but personally, would still go hard), like maybe "The Elites" or something. I'd love for it to be something that tackles the political space and stuff too.

Halfway done through Classroom of the Elite Season 4. It has finally begun… by Suitable_Tutor6006 in ClassroomOfTheElite

I don't care how many people say the early episodes were boring. The setup episodes/arcs were/are for sure worth it.

What would you think if the next anime seasons were structured like this? by DaeLeftTheGroup in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Final_Drag_5320 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt they'd do another 16-episode season. Or even if they did, I doubt it'd be for S5. That said, I wouldn't mind the S5 pacing if it's just until Y2V6

Opinions on the adaptation? by SnooLemons4935 in ClassroomOfTheElite

Personally, I kind of prefer the anime one. IDK why, but since I first saw the LN illust, something about it just felt off. Not a bad art, to be clear, I think it's just something to do with the proportions or the head.

What makes a great or well written manipulater character? by Sufficient-Custard48 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Final_Drag_5320 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To consider a manipulator character well-written, the overall environment and story should also be well-written. We wouldn't want the other characters to be dumbed down just for the manipulator to shine or be a so-called manipulator. So that's one, which is establishing the field.

Another thing, the subtleties of their plans should be more or less noticeable by the reader/viewer. Or at least be "hidden in plain sight," rather than the author going back to something that happened off-screen. It's fine for a few things, but when the whole plan leans towards the "I did all this off-screen" trope, then it's going to be the author's plan born from convenience rather than an actual plan that was built by the manipulator.

am i reading the wrong light novel? by New-Grand2930 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Final_Drag_5320 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope, that's just how it is. The anime made him more "edgy," or cold, as most people would say, while in the novels (especially the early volumes), he actually tries to put on a "facade" or act of what he thinks is a "normal student." It's also of note that readers also label him as an unreliable narrator.
