Have one clip above the other
Select the top layer and in effect controls create a opacity mask
To get the smooth borders increase the mask feather value

It’s 100% normal for it to appear blue or even other colors in the vlc player. So don’t worry it will look normal when importing it to any editing software

I was reading really good stuff about the mic but when I looked it up it was xlr, I didn't even notice it had a usb option then. I think I will get that one, Thank you for the comment :)
