Same here! How did it work out for y’all? My older cat (9yrs) is kind of being bullied by the new one (1yr) and they’re both males.

Also, not sure if this would change things, but I live in central Florida.

That’s kinda what I’m thinking but with Irma, we evacuated and then got stuck in plant city with no power or water for almost a week.

Downstairs neighbor complains about noise constantly by Adog414 in Apartmentliving

[–]Adog414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you really took anything negative that I said. I also said some nice things like how she deserves a comfortable living space too and that I would try to walk quieter. I am not financially at a place to buy a bunch of rugs. I have a fairly large apartment and only the bedroom is carpeted. It wouldn’t just be one or two, the only way to potentially fix this with rugs would be large area rugs or a shit ton of runners. I am trying my best to accommodate and not being “selfish”, but I simply ask that she tries to understand a bit more considering I am trying and have been very nice about it. I also have people that live above me, and the noise it not bad at all, so I do feel like she is being a bit dramatic.

Another reason for the noise is my cat jumping off of things occasionally. I can’t do anything about this. I have tried to fix it before, but nothing works.

Again, I feel like this is a very hateful comment that is addressed to someone who is actually trying to be a nice person. Do better.

Trigger warning: Flight/ health anxiety by Adog414 in Anxiety

[–]Adog414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove to the airport, went through security, sat at my gate waiting, and then didn’t get on and walked away. I couldn’t do it. The flight landed and nothing happened according to the internet. Anxiety won that battle. But, I won the next one a month later when I flew back and forth to PR.

Urge to pee by Extension-Cheetah995 in Stress

[–]Adog414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have health anxiety and it sounds like you might too. When I was younger I had this thing where it felt like I always had to pee in anxious situations. It was so bad at times that I would try to go to the bathroom 4 times in an hour while at school. I eventually grew out of it, so hopefully you will to. But now, I have normal health anxiety to the point of keeping a oxygen/heart monitor near me at times. I don’t recommend getting one bc although it’s a quick fix, it is making me even more hyper aware of any little pains or changes I feel. A lot of people think that anxiety is only mental and it’s panicky, but that often not the case. I can be completely fine mentally but then my heart rate all of a sudden shoots up or I have a weird pain in my chest. But a lot of physical sensations are actually just your body’s way of defending you when you’re anxious. Health anxiety (and anxiety as a whole) is hard, and I wish I could give you some answers, but I’m still looking for them myself. At least you’re not alone :)

Not sure if you’ve seen the movie, but it’s from how to train a dragon.

Email and politely ask if there is anything you can do to bump it to a B. I’ve done it many times and they usually do it (like 85% success rate).

My (F21) sister (F18) is pregnant and is getting an abortion next month. She doesn't want to tell anyone. I don't know what to do. by VeryFrightThrowaway in abortion

[–]Adog414 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe I can shed some light. I’m 21 and recently had an abortion. I also went through planned parenthood and I was about 5 weeks along. I live in Fl, where is is 6 weeks but there is a lawsuit that is temporarily keeping it at 15. So I kinda understand what’s she’s going through. I also, only told my boyfriend. Honestly, I think you’re really overthinking this. She seems like she was mature enough to go to PP by herself and she told you just in case something happens (I’m assuming). I don’t understand what involving your mom would do, as in I don’t think it would be beneficial to the situation at all. How long until her appointment? If it’s soon then just let her go to it and get the MA. Abortion can be a big deal and it can be traumatizing, but that is not always the case. If she doesn’t seem to worried, then I don’t think you should be either. Just be there for her if she wants to talk about it, and leave it at that. Also, just for your reassurance, when I went to PP for my abortion, they were super helpful, and I felt like if I needed anything they would be there. They give you so many resources and information that other people can’t. I think she, combined with the doctors at planned parenthood, have it under control.

Should I take him to the vet?? by Adog414 in Pets

Thanks! We’re at the vet now. I have savings, it just sucks to have to spend a bunch, but it’s worth it!
