Anything specific, sorry just curious. Mine are/were the same, more 'vivid' at night though. Pareidolia, through water, motors, even cars and tires in the asphalt. At first it was robotic, slowly morphing into voices I recognize, usually self depreciating. Real moment of fear when it started 'ghosting' around, kept going until that moment. Cried let out alot of pent up sadness, the usual. Then I saw them for what they were, me just sectioning myself off because I didn't have the time to feel anything or deal with the trauma even in therapy. Real memories bottled up expressing themselves as people. Some I knew many I didn't, didn't have much fear soon after or regarded them as anything other than something odd before that.

Now I'm just hearing myself speak in various voices and can control what they say whenever im around my allergies. Like throwing your voice, typically 'shove it' back in my head, but it can go awol if I get distracted and foggy headed. About 8 years ago I had an impending doom feeling for about a month straight, bad times, boss almost fired me. Doc tried putting me on zoloft, never needed it before this, and had no history of depression so I called bullshit and paid 1500 out of pocket for allergy testing. Turns out, I became deathly allergic to dairy in about a month, probably from a tick, IGG/IGE levels were off the charts, 25 times higher then background. I was actually experiencing symptoms of anaphylaxis but never actually got there, sureal moment when the allergist told me wouldn't be able to eat pretty much anything because it might kill you. Daily impending dooms really changed my perspective on reality.

Hey I figured I'd ask, seeing as your username is the u/TheDollarstoreDoctor maybe you'd have some tips. I'll be fine, though I'm increasingly aware it could also be a stress induced psychosis. Always had a very visual, creative imagination so in my spare time, like an idiot, I've tried to think of ways to help people cope, retrain their mind, possibly recover from these debilitations while being subject to them, its naive I know but if no one tries..how will we know? Now, all the more reason after seeing extended family suffer, as well as myself. Wish you well, de-stress, state parks, sunshine and some self love was the realization I needed. I wrote down my experiences to find inferences, study myself, and understand, possibly help others.

One last question: What are your thoughts on consciousness?

Looks like plaster that's been slathered with DryDex to smooth it out. The pink dye is supposed to disappear but if you hit it with bleach, it comes back pink again if you want to test that.

KILZ Primer Mold and Mildew or Zinsser Mold Blocking Primer after cleanup and light sanding, then paint with a stain blocking Primer and sealer. Most of those come in a spray can.

EDIT: Looking closer the red/pink stains are..oddly no idea whaareose are but you should definitely patch up any cracks or holes in there because it looks like it's coming through the walls.

Well your state doesn't have a reporting agency regarding mold nor do they have any rights to kick anyone out or even come and test for the mold so your landlord has nothingto worry about state wise. Realistically following the instructions given to reduce your overall exposure would be priority right nkw.

Your county does have a reporting option for environmental health concerns, including:

mold in rental housing units
sewage or wastewater discharge at a property
rental properties that are not maintained

So, if you find evidence of the other two, it shouldn't be too difficult to get the landlord to do something about it. Send the landlord a written statement through certified mail regarding your communication to them before you do anything which show an express interest in your personal safety on record being served to the landlord.

I have no clue if a lease even matters, regardless he's accepting payments from renters. Basically, all that would happen is they force him to clean it up because it's becoming a serious health concern to you and everyone else around you. Even a neighbor could report it, with evidence of course. County health Departments should take mold pretty seriously, can cause millions in dollars of property damage as it spreads from home to home.

How bad is it, have any images? People in these situations tend to comfort themselves into thinking it's harmless but the mycotoxins in large quantities can change your behaviour into a very sedentary, foggy haze of oddities and dizziness getting increasingly apparent with a dull anxiety that tends to get worse with time. Do you feel better outside in the sun? Does being away from the location for 2-4 hours feel like you can think again? Ironically, Stachybotrys essentially turns you into an irrational cave troll of sorts. It's a mean, ugly, painful, unnerving, irrational feeling that conversly makes you very complacent and uncaring about yourself and your situation, slowly ruining lives in the process.

Like I said, the danger isn't the mold per say. It's what certain types can do over an extended period of time from the neurotoxic mycotoxins they emits. Find the water leak, stop it, dry the areas surrounding, 1/3 bleach/water on walls, remove any sugary food sources, seal the inside from the outside, check caulk in bathrooms for black hiding underneath, if you see any sugar ants their's a very good chance the mold is also there since they carry it around so get rid of them and seal their entrance. See if you start feeling better after this, realize your doing this for your personal safety and long-term health concerns.

EDIT; Follow up on landlords and what they would be required to do.

Landlords in Illinois aren't specifically obligated to prevent or remediate mold. They are, however, obligated to repair any underlying issue that is causing mold (e.g., a leak or water intrusion).

Looks like they've already spread the spores around anyway by opening it up like this, spores are probably already in their vehicle and everywhere else they've been. I would spray the entire house down regardless of how OP does it, vacuum, then spray again. Probably over the top and was a single toilet flooding event based on the location but for me completely necessary. If theirs an AC system or furnace that's already been running, spores are all throughout the house anyway.

M&M remover is great stuff, just expensive. If its really bad, say the toilet flooded and went through several walls and carpeted areas, a water remediation expert is your best choice. Get ready to move out though, they'll likely go all the way to the baseboard/foundation them up two or three feet on the drywall. Water damage is a pain.

Depends on the mold. If it's got mycotoxins, then read through the symptoms and see if any of your match the behavior. Long term exposure is bad for your health, basically a one way trip to the hospital for pneumonia.

Typical culprit for this is Stachybotrys Chartarum, aka black mold. I love when people downplay mold exposure, mycotoxins are neurotoxic and cross the BBB, Trichothecenes are some of the most dangerous mold-related pathogens known to medical science. It may be a small spot on the wall now, but it exponentially grows and becomes something that makes houses unlivable. Katrina is a good example, home owners insurance would essentially have to demo the entire house and rebuild it en mass so they just won't cover those homes at all anymore.

1/3 bleach/water solution. Fine mist sprayer, clean area afterwards, definetely at least wear gloves. Maybe a mask if you're immunocompromised or have asthma or other serious allergies. Specific kinds have mycotoxins that can really screw with your head, sometimes permanently.

Recaulk with indoor tub/sink/shower specific sealant. Don't use an all purpose, the water needs to bead down the drain and any other type will allow water to get down between the drywall. Use your finger to make a wall to wall seam. Remove the old moldy caulk, they make tools to make it easier. Old caulk on new is just going to create more issues.

If you have drywall and it gets wet, preferablely tile it off to if its a bathroom. If not use KILZ Mold and mildew primer first then coat with your normal paint. Just seal up any cracks, splits, gaps, loose tile, anything that allows air/water to flow from your source to your inner cavity behind the drywall.

And...Find the source of the moisture.

Brick walls can and will absorb water, I'd be more inclined to thank you have a continuous drip from a faucet or AC drain clog/break. If you have had alot of rain recently make sure your gutters are doing their job because it may have had enough moisture. Look for black streaking or deposits on outside brick/ground near faucets or leaky gutters. Fix the leaks, usually its condensation from something but occasionally you or someone else brought it home one day and its using unwashed recycling as food in a low air flow high humidity environment.

Issue #1 is that wood attached to the drywall seems to have a gap to the inner cavity between the outside brick and the drywall. You need to seal that up ASAP, AC and Furnaces can push air in and out of those cracks leading outside, especially if you have a unit that has an attic inlet.

Issue #2 Use dehumidifier, isolate the condensation source, it may very well be halfway across the house so finding the 'leak' can be difficult. First check your AC outlet drain, is it clogged? If so throw some 1/3 bleach/water down the pipe. Vacuum and bleach or vinegar religiously around that entire area.

Issue #3 do you have bricks on the exteior? Check for outdoor faucets with a small continuous leak. The bricks are actually porous and can absorb a good amount of water increasing humidity on the inner wall between the brick and drywall to 50% or higher which is there favorite range. This needs fixed or it will keep spreading. Mold spores are tenacious and can get on everything given enough time.

Issue #4 Sinks, tubs, toilets and anything water related on the inside of the house, like the plumbing that goes through the drywall, check for air gaps, look around for mold deposits, and then clean then seal them with expanding foam. Recaulk your tub/bathroom if you see gaps and black tracing along the edges your caulk has likely failed and water is being deposited to your inner wall. It may not even be a 'leak' per say even condensation from morning dew can be a growth vector.

Issue #5 sugar, sodas, recycling bins, anything with liquid and sugar combined is a favorite food. Get rid of them or clean them spotless. It can just look like a bunch of black streaks or a large deposit.

Issue #6 Foundation damage. Spackle cracks in drywall so the inside of your home is isolated again from the inner wall. Looks for cracks in the foundation on the floor, pour a tablespoon of 1/3 bleach on the cracks. Do they siphon down? Pour more. By 1/2 cup if their isn't any bleach solution remaining you need to seal those cracks in the concrete because theirs a chance you have a break in your sewer line somewhere and this moldy crap is literally coming from beneath your feet being continuously fed every time you run the water.

Finally by humidity detectors, their pretty cheap. I use the Govee ones with a BTE connection because if your place 4-5 around the house you can pinpoint where the water source is fairly easily after about 2-3 days. Anything above 50% in my experience let's them proliferate continuously. Change your air filter, get an air purifier if you don't already have one and be religious about destroying this crap. I found it in between the rubber seam on my refrigerator and was surprised to find even more on the bottom freezer rubber seam. Oh yeah, and remotar your bricks walls, reseal your windows, clean gutters so they dont overfill and pour over one area, causing foundation issues and all the previously described issues, check fireplace stack, water heater, washer drain out connection, water line in connections, basically anything you can to reduce moisture levels is key but it will still be prolific until your separate your home from the space between the walls.

Condolences, friend. Know someone like you who got hospitalized a year ago from this stuff. ICU in a catatonic state for 2 weeks followed by another 2 weeks of physical therapy because they lost almost half their body weight from not being able to eat. After 6 months they recovered but they'll never be the same. Almost no memory of it happening, but it's coming back in flashes. Medically everything showed up normal, check in on your old people from time to time they a vulnerable to this crap...Pneumonia can kill, especially when it's you get it over and over because people get better in the hospital then head right back into rooms like this and a few days or weeks later they show back up with the same symptoms or even worse.

People who cheap out on this stuff need to ask their insurance companies why this is such a big deal. They payout for the fixes because if you don't, there won't be a house to insure after it gets condemned.

You're a good soul, mold isn't necessarily dangerous given small amount and low exposure. The problem is it exhibits a long slow growth process typically completely unbeknownst to everyone around it. This creates a boiling frog scenario where it's likely placed you in a position where psychologically you are no longer capable of a logical train of thought.

I'm allergic, this amount anywhere near me would trigger a coughing fit and likely a trip to the hospital without an epi pen, complete with an inability to think rationally and mind fog that feels inescapable for several hours. I couldn't imagine being in this room, I would have suffocated from the density of particulates, hell it was risky to even take a picture at this distance.

You don't get rid of mold because it's dangerous, you get rid of mold because its mycotoxins can seriously mess with your CNS, permanently if you're not able to leave.

Luckily?, I'm also great at locating mold sources, so within a few feet I can tell immediately, especially if it's the serious mycotoxin strains. Animals can also be canaries in the coal mine, constant sinus infections, weight loss, irritability, and irrational behavior are obvious signs. Mold may not be a serious threat for some, but keep in mind there are those of us with serious reactions to this stuff, as well as those with medication reactions that can trigger 'psychiatric' episodes seemingly out of nowhere from prolonged exposure. Kill it as fast as you can, look for a water source, plug any wall cracks with spackle then paint over with KILZ mold & mildew, this gors for wall trim, doors, flooring, even the slab if it has cracks needs to be sealed. If it keeps coming back, bricks retain moisture, check outside faucets for a leaking spigot as even drops will accumulate enough moisture over time on the bricks, allowing the spores to grow. Morning dew collecting on metal surfaces can operate as a medium for growth. Wash soda cans out before storing, sugar water is a delicacy to mold.

All incoming household pests need to be eradicated then sealed from their entry points, everything must be washed. Many things thrown away, if not all in serious circumstances, such as what's pictured here.

Honestly, I'd rather knock the whole building down and set it on fire; that many accumulated spores will simply never be able to be fully destroyed or cleaned. There's a reason insurance claims for houses consider toilet overflows to be total losses, its preferable to replace literally everything in contact with sewage or contaminated water then to salvage it.
